Went to the gas station/mini market. The beer in the cooler actually looked good today.

Made it out safely (I CAN'T drink...) but hated the fact that it was appealing to me. Why can't vegetables be that alluring? lol

Why can't veggies be that alluring? Why can't french fries be as healthy as fresh broccoli!!! I'm with you on that one!

Sadly, I used to say to my husband: "Why does it have to be so healthy to drink h20 and it can't be the same for wine."

You can't poke your eyes out! Vegetables never had the same allure as AL did for me. AL is everywhere, in stores, on TV, and I'm telling you I am feeling the same way tonight as I am working in a place where I have frequented many fine establishments....not with drunken memories, but places where I'd like to have dinner and a couple glasses of wine, and now I can't either since I'm on Antabuse....but there, the decision has been made.....nothing we can do about it now.


And it's extra hard because it's the weekend and you're home by yourself. So am I and I am in your corner!!!!:h

Tomorrow is your 30-day anniversary and I am so proud and happy for you....you could have stopped taking it so you could drink and you didn't, so KUDOS TO YOU, K9!!

K9Lover, awesome job on getting out quick, without the beer! Some days it does look even better than others. A few times when I have grabbed a beer for visitors, opened them, and man oh man, it was tough to not chug er back. Like you though, I fought it off, and stayed af. Keep up the great work,

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone! Rusty, I am glad you started taking your Antabuse....that's what saved me today, because I have to say that I probably would have caved otherwise. Last time I quit I made it to 40 days. Oh well, it's not even an option anymore. Day 29 almost over and Day 30 sooooooooooooooo close!

must start taking my antabuse again....not taking it is NOT working......my body is wrecked after all the abuse of alcohol......need to start getting myself back on track........

I will see how long I last on Antabuse....I might not....I am only on Day 1, andi if I cave, I have Plan B close by, Naltrexone, which helped a friend of mine stay sober after 25 years of drinking vodka. I like to have options. With Antabuse, there are none, like you said, you can't drink and it forces you to think about something other than drinking.

This is a wonderful place and I'm so grateful for all my MWO friends.

YAWN....time for bed!
