    Just checking in

1 week off the grog, had a few touchy cravings today but nudged them to one side.
Mate asked if I was out and I replied night in tonight.

GF is out on a hen party so on my own, normally I would use this as an excuse to go out for hours drinking.

Well done! Looks like you're exhausted so may be a good night to make it an early night???

Might not feel like it right now Flip, but this is a lovely place to be this hour of a Sat night. Warm, safe, sober and among friends.

Well done. I too could have gone out or socialised but decided to spend some time with a friend. Figured it safer than any other option. Just popping out and watching a film on their big screen TV (I don't watch many films plus my TV is very small) made it feel as if I was doing something special. Oh and they were really pleased I'm doing so well - so got some good support too.

Im still hanging on, had cans of beer wafted under my nose and havent touched. Still really angry with a so called mate for taking advantage and humiliating me. You know what are friends for? Really thinking about saying you ever do it again then thats it ( have known this guy since we were kids but he seems to fee of embarrassing other people to get his highs).

                    FlipTop,

Well done for resisting! That friend of yours sounds like an idiot - maybe you should give him an ultimatum if he keeps on humiliating you - its not on at all! he needs someone (like you!) to stand up to him.. well done again and thanks for your reply on my date thread.. i know i have to concentrate on me and my boy.. going to give dating a miss, i just cannot afford to risk my sobriety for anyone right now..

Flip Top - congrats for not giving in to your friend. Unfortunately some people don't understand or care, so do it for you and don't worry about what anyone else thinks or wants you to do. It is worth it - sobriety - give it time and you will start to feel much better.
