    Hey Kazzi!

Welcome and well done for joining us here on MWO. It's a great step.

Eazy to make statements like that by your doctor from where he is sitting hey? Because he can handle his 2 glasses a night he thinks so can everyone?

Anycase. Stick around here, also check out the Meds section for useful supplements, etc.

And don't get disheartened if you don't make it up to 30 days (or whatever time frame) immediately. The important thing is to start the journey and not give up. You get knocked down, you get up again. It's as though you were in a race. when your bike crashes after 5 km's , it doesn't magically reassamble at the beginning of the race. you fix it and get on with it. Every km (or mile) gained is sucess. Easy baby steps to start off with. Take it one day at a time. The end of the day is the finish line.

    Luv,

    Johnny

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

Tictak your post reminded me of me some years ago when I was trying to cut down, I bought 7 of those little bottles thinking I would be good and just have 1 a night - you can imagine whats coming........... I drank them all in one night :H:H:H:H

I actually tried that small bottle thing as well. bought quarter bottles of brandy but would land up going back for more. If the shop was closed then I would get aggressive and probably land up in the nearest pub to spend the grocery money.

Hi Kazzi - Welcome to a great place!
I was a 2 bottles of a night girl and creeping up to 3 when i quit in Dec. I've had similar advice from Doctors but unless they have been where we have they really dont understand. Thats whats great about here! In our own way we all have the best qualifications to help each other.

                Hi Kazzi,
I'm new here and a mother of two as well. Wine is the weakness also. Even before kids I have stopped for months and always thought I can go back with moderation - which seems to work for a while. Now the guilt can be overwhelming when I feel so horrible and depressed the next day. I don't even have to drink that much but the next day start again - early- to not feel it!
I'm on another Day 1 and look forward to having a Day 2,3,4, etc. AF. But I'll start with just today!
I hope you can too. From one mother to another - our children are worth it as well as ourselves. Reading MWO posts help me alot.

Welcome Kazzi! I just started this forum about a week ago. I have found it soooooo helpful. I find it helpful to even type out my messages even if I get no responses. I agree with Chillgirl that we here are all quite qualified to help each other. Not saying we shouldn't pursue counseling or whatever else. But typing out your feelings that you think are bazaar and then having all these other people respond and say they are in or have been in the same boat is so helpful.

How funny that many of us tried buying the mini-bottles! :H
I tried the same, but then bought a cask of wine to fill the little bottles up! - i was totally trying to fool myself.. oh how manipulative the drinking mind can be..

                      Spam,
I'm sure some ppl have.. it is totally personal as to how we tackle this.. when I first joined I went abstinent for almost 3 weeks.. unfortunately I ended up binging a couple of times, but those times were few and far between compared to what I used to be like.. I guess my issue is resolve.. the problem is i do still feel like i am missing something when I dont drink..but now I feel I have learnt so much from being here, that i dont feel that way anymore.. thats why i am excited with this 30 day challenge!

Phew. Maybe? be encouraging to see. I think somoe of those that realise that stumbling is part of the journey probaby to better than some of those than don't. My biggest problem is, when I got momentum I do really well, but I slip up once, you'll probably not see me around here for a couple of months. Bad conscience haunting me and that feeling that all is lost now anyways. I admire those on board here actually that have the courage to admit when they've slipped and get on with it. No matter how many times.

                        Respect!

Hi Kazzi, and welcome. You are not alone here, I am a father of two children, who was drinking way too much, and I also almost lost my family due to alcohol. Read and write lots in here, there are many wonderful people who can give you thoughts and feedback which really helps. For me, moderation does not work - I tried to do it for years and years. I don't want 2 beers, I want 10. After becoming sober, I am enjoying my kids, my life, my wife so much more than while drinking - and you will too. All the best,
