        ODAT Tues 25th May

        Hi guys,

You guyz are the best. Really. If I fall of the wagon, i'll proably be back to square one for a couple of days, weeks, months before I come back and make mends. You guys fall but get back up again. That's the very definition of beating this thing. It's not about how often you fall, it's about how often you get up again.

Keep doing it guys. Keep fighting!!!
        AF since 15th March 2010

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

          ODAT Tues 25th May

          Hi everyone

ODAT is indeed a very special thread and the reason a lot of people stay with MWO and keep trying. I know in the beginning if I slipped and was trying for 30 days. I just stopped posting. I felt such a failure.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Overit it here! ODAT for today! Day 1. Did not make it through the challenges of bartending on Mondays. Sigh.. But Good news is that was the last Monday because my job closes on Mondays for the summer, so bad for my paycheck, but good in the regards that I will not have that temptations in my face on mondays.

Hi Katie, nice to see you again! Looking forward to catching up, Morning Rustop, yes.. ODAT will always be special to me as well. Hey Girly, hope you going good too.

Johnny, thank you so much for the advice regarding the guy I am dating. Those were very wise words. I like the phrase "Steel sharpens Steel" and I think that is why I purposely seek out a person who does not drink! I am the type of person who is a follower, and I believe if I was lucky enough to have him be MY guy, I would get it together really quick. Its too early to speculate, so lets just see what happens.

Happy SOBER Tuesday! I promise it will be for me

              Hi Rustop!

Overit, I think you're going about this exactly the right way. Just take it easy and see what happens. When the expectatins are there and high, it's so easy to get hurt, etc.

Shew, bartending and not being tempted to drink, quite a challenge. Sounds a good thing you won't have to deal with it. I'm sure God will provide for you. Even with the loss on the paychecque.

So when are you seeing Mister again?!!!!!

Your the best Johnny, I mean that. Thank you for lifting my spirits up my brother in Christ. Just think, we may not meet in this world, but we will be living in Heaven with Jesus forever! Sometimes I really really look forward to that day, when He comes and gets us out of here. There will not be any addictions in Heaven will there

Im not sure when I will see him again, but confident that I will in the near future. He is a very busy guy, but things seem to be progressing very slow, but they do seem to be progressing in a good direction. I like him and he would be a perfect guy for me. Loves God and hates alcohol. perfect for me and just the type for me and my son. Oh he also has a little boy, just like me. I have not met his little boy, but his son and my son are ages 6 and 8. perfect again.

You seem to be doing good! Im really happy to see your happiness my friend.

That sounds really, really great. Could be great for the kids too?!

You're dear to me Overit. I mean it. I feel your pain and your joy because though our situations are so different, they're so similar at the same time. We're united in Christ! And we're fighting the same battles too. It's difficult at times for my dear wife to understand. Her battles are different ones. It's so great to meet people here like you, who I share faith and the same challenges. It helps so much to grow in each others experiences.

I'm doing great at the moment!! The bad days come and go! I'm glad I know where my hope is it really does help you out of the darkest pits hey?! Even when it's a process at times.

This whole struggle with A is even difficult for ME to understand dear brother, but we keep plugging away and trying to win the battle, dont we. Im glad we are all here for one another. People who do not have this struggle really have no idea how lucky they truly are.

I hope we can be a testimony to others on here Johnny! We struggle, but yet, we remain strong in our faith in the Lord. He is our rock and our strength, and we will stand on His promises for us. He blesses us even as we struggle. He never leaves us. Its so good to know.

Sorry! We are dominating the ODAT thread today, didnt mean to!!

Absolutely. Trials and Tribulations. It's hard to understand sometimes why we have to go through these things, but hey, here's a couple of things someone told me the other day, I loved:

you don't become a great sailor in calm waters,
Only dead fish swim with the stream

                      Luved those

Hi, Overit2007. I am also a bartender on the weekends, so I can relate. Lately, I try to focus on the babbling fools, or the ones drinking alone who look miserable but pretend they are not. God bless them and any others who may not know that they are walking on a tightrope of the insanity of alcohol addiction. Be glad our eyes are open to it, and we can see it for what it really is and kick it to the curb.
