Does Grape Juice Work As A Substitute?

    My new favourite...

Club soda with lemonade (2/3 soda + 1/3 lemonade) - nice and fizzy and not too sweet!

I have found one 'alcohol removed' wine that is quite drinkable. It is a Shiraz by Edenvale and available at Dan Murphy's and some supermarkets (in Australia)
I am surprised at how few of these types of wine are available here.
It's $8 by the way. You can buy the real thing for half that (with alcohol) but it doesn't taste as good as the Edenvale Shiraz.

I may have to move to Australia. I keep hearing about these wonderful drinks - ginger beer, etc. - but they are all unavailable here (even Googling for US suppliers of Australian products I am out of luck!). All the non-alc wine I've tried here would gag a maggot.

I guess I am stuck with my lemonade and soda for now!

First of all while I do sometimes dream about the taste of certain ciders I don't miss AL for the taste. I miss the effect which is primarily what I drank for - well otherwise why was i hooked?

Anyway I find now I'm dry that I don't need to be shlurrping glass after glass of liquids simply because I'm not chasing that effect -merely quenching thirst. Water, cranberry juice, chamomile tea etc do all that as do Elderflower/ginger cordials. Ginger beer - just be careful as quite a few brands do contain some AL, even if it's just 0.05%(watch out for alcoholic ginger beer too). In the past I would have shunned the suggestion that such a small amount was dangerous, but this time I've decided not to take it. Why?Mostly concerned friends who have said they really don't think it's a good idea. Since peace of mind was something I wanted from going AF I have decided it's simply not worth the risk. My life was so utterly cr@p why risk that for a few glasses of ginger beer - and the cordial is completely AF.

AL removed wine?tried it and I was nearly sick. Afraid the taste reminded me of too many sessions where I ended up being sick, and of course I actually don't like the taste - all I drank wine for was the effect. It also once again has 0.05% AL remaining. Sounds picky but I'd rather avoid wherever possible.

When out in bars or restaurants I will ask the barman to mix up a fruit-juice, non-AL cocktail. Never failed once and they taste great.
