      Good on ya, Matho! I'll check Allen Carr, too. Just starting - for the millionth time. I do not have not had serious hangovers too often since I am the alkie used to booze. I cannot believe I gulp 1.5 bottles wine per night and next day I'm ok. Yeah, ok, in the means of tired and waiting to get to get home to have a drink.

      Keep at it and keep telling is how fab AF life is! It is sooooo motivating.

        Well I have got a hangover this morning and it is horrible. Thought I knew better. What a liar that poison is .It told me I could just have a couple of Gins after 8 days AF. Well i will just have to get back on track. I notice I have given the the G a capital letter and the I lower case. Speaks volumes about the addiction

          Hi All. Anon well done on 8 days AF Just get back to it today. Just remember how great you were feeling! The Allen Carr book is good and I think it will help you. Im on day 10 today and just worried I might slip next week with it being the World Cup and hubby will be having a few beers. Best stock up on diet coke!! Have a great AF Sunday everyone!

            Anon, you were doing brilliantly. All that time still stands to you - back up on the wagon, and you'll feel really good tomorrow, just be careful you don't fall into the trap of ' oh I had a drink yesterday so I'll have some today and start again tomorrow', that can lead to mad stuff, just pick yourself up and stay attached to this place today!
            Spinning J, the fact that you have pinpointed a possible weak point with the world cup coming up means you are forearmed with that knowledge. Like you say stock up on the Coke and tell yourself that no sodding football match is worth loosing your sobriety for!

              Molly and Spinning thank you so much.Are you a mind reader Molly? As that was my train of thought maybe finish off the gin today and start tommorrow. New week and all that. Today is day one and it is my diary and yes 8 days under my belt was brilliant.

                I have just finished reading Allen Carrs book and wow I can honestly say I feel amazing its like a whole weight has been lifted . OK it has only been 2 days a/f for me and I have tried endless times and not got past 2 days, but I do feel somewhat free.
                I don't miss my hangovers , my shakes, throwing up, trying to get through my working day doing the least that I could and clock watching all day praying to go home and lay down.
                I now enjoy my day, I too have the confidence to say after only 2 days how good I feel right now is how I want it to last.

                  Another thing.. I got so used to waking up everyday with a hangover when I woke up this morning for the first few seconds I automatically thought it was just another normal crap day with a hangover in tow... how refreshed I felt when I remembered I was af.... bizarre.

                    GODS YES I LOVE IT!

                    I had one almost every day for two years. I was so used to it that I would just get up, go to work, and deal with it. I had a few days bad enough I had to pretend I was sick and put a sign on my office door, but the telling thing is that--on the days after I didn't drink--my co-workers would all talk about how great I looked.

                      3 days af and loving it... getting comments already about how well I look.... I know I looked rough almost everyday... I feel so free.

                        I know exactly what you mean about the split seconds you wake up.... I love to lie there now relish the feeling of no hangover, have a stretch, a BIG smile, a few moments of gratitude then begin my day! Love it......
