I was doing good - got up to day 7 AF, but then lapsed. Yesterday my kids and babysitter were in a serious accident - fortunately, they ended up with very minor injuries. I was so shook up that I couldn't muster the discipline not to grab some wine to calm my nerves. Felt like crap this a.m., so back to day 1 today.

Sorry to hear that Determination. Habits take time to change. And drinking is our natural habitual response to these type of things. So don't feel bad. You just got to work on changing your habits!!! It's a long windy road. But a lot better then the alternative.
Glad you're right back on track!!! With DETERMINATION you CAN do itAF since 15th March 2010
The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

I am doing really well Johnny, building from my baseline and loving life at the minute.
It's a brain trick Determination always looking for excuses or reasons, none are valid enough to go back to AL, but that's a learning process, I too am learning that one! Day 1 is a good place to start, good work for getting back on track!
