I've been sitting here 4 at least 3 hours. I need to get to LA. Has something happened at the US end? There are 10 planes out there I can see and none are moving. At least the Wi-Fi works

Hi Spuddleduck i called him snoopy. Twosox so sorry those assholes cancelled your daughter's party at the last hour i hope you had a lovely family day and a great 14th birthday for her. I'm struggling a bit tonight with cravings so i took some l-glut so hopefully will pass soon. Well here's to a sober saturday for us all. xxx

Hello firefox and welcome snoopy--kittens are lovely and therapeutic I think--Sorry you are struggling the evenings are so hard.
Twosox kids are so horrid at times. I remember being 14 and how rejection was/can be so painful--She is lucky to have you. BTW what are 6 Flags?
Everyone has gone to ground here in England to watch the football which has just started. Big temptations to drink as it is so available in this house. Got my orange and soda lined up and just taken an I -glut. However remembering how miserable I felt the other day when I caved in and thinking how lovely I felt this morning is enough for me at the moment.
I changed my avatar as I thought Bart Simpson on the other one looked too angry.

ODAT SAT 12th JUNE

Hello ODATers. I was thinking about "one day at a time" just now in the shower. So of course I wanted to visit the ODAT thread! WOW what a great thread. So much enthusiasm for sobriety today, despite life's ups and downs.

You know what? It doesn't matter how long any of us have been sober. Each day when we wake up it's a new day. We can have a positive outlook on it and choose not to drink, or we can screw it up by drinking. It's the same for all of us. We are walkin' it together one day at a time.

Twosox, I'm very sad to read about your DD's party. Teens can be SO viscious. You couldn't PAY me to be a teenager again! You are handling it very well. We can't control what other people do, but we CAN control whether we drink over it or not.

Thanks for such an inspiring read today!
