    ODAT 15th June

    Goodmorning all,

Day 9 today, almost in double digits - yeah! Sat again on my porch swing without an alcolohic drink again and it was great, amazing how I can enjoy the beautiful lake even more without al.

Welcome Alicia, you found the right place, great job on day 2, keep it going

I will be strolling the oceanside today, looking forward to some nice fresh saltwater air.

Have a Happy and Blessed AF Day!

    Two :l

You guys all got fantastic programmes going I must say, while some of us just sit in office all day existing away

The joys of sobriety. Lovely though right?! I couldn't imagine just taking a stoll next to the beach (unless perhaps with a six pack in the bag), or just relaxing reading a book, spending time with family before I quit drinking?! It was all AL centered before.

      Enjoy
      AF since 15th March 2010

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

Hi Mama, I was mad too but now am glad ...so glad, think I will be up all night watching football because sleep seems to be elusive but as I don't have to work tomorrow so. guess I'll br knackered but fresh in other ways.... Have got a new notebook with bright coloured pens to detail cravings, supplements I am taking and how I am feeling... a bit primary school I know but seemed to work today!!
              Support is everything, Thanks

Dont worry Mama, you are not alone... Sometimes having too much time on your hands is NOT a good thing! I find myself bored, and thats when the trouble can come creeping in. Oh well.. Guess I need to find some new ways to fill up the boredom.

Im happy you newbies are doing so well! Really thrilled actually.

Hows my Buddy Johnny doing? Always nice to see a positive post from you my friend.

Ha... Overit!! There you are Good mornings to you. (Have I got the time right more or less? must be about 8am or so?)

Feeling very positive. Looking forward to Soccer and AA meeting!

Overit, I needed plenty of distraction in the beginning and got really, really involved in my church. It was the best thing I could do. It kept me preoccupied but more importantly preoccupied with the right stuff, if you know what I meant. Something worth considering?!

Patrice, Got to go check this but think you were on here yesterday?! This is still one of my favorites! ODAT. such a great principle in achieving sobriety. One Day at a Time!!

Not an L Glut expert but 3000mg sounds like a good dose?! I personally take 1000 mg capsules twice daily. Not sure if that's enough though.
                    Hi Johnny and all!

I recommend 5000 mg twice daily. Some say up to 20,000 mg a day(that could be a loading dose and then taper to individual needs). Powder is more economical and convenient in this dosage. Some even dissolve it under the tongue for immediate absorption.

Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

I actually tried that yesterday after you recommended. My wife thought I was going mad when she saw me oepning the pill capsules and puttin the powder directly under the tongue :H

Hi Mama....funny I was thinking about you all day yesterday:l...wondering where you've been. Johnny is right yesterday is history. Today is all we get.

I hope I'm not sticking my nose where it doesn't belong but I wonder if you have written down all the reasons why you continue to drink even at the expense you say it causes you. Maybe attacking it from that perspective would help to gain more control?? I know we have reasons not to drink but maybe a little reverse thinking would help??

Your so right Johnny... There really is never an excuse to drink, bored or not! I could make ten thousand excuses, Its too hot out, its too cold out, my dog has fleas, LOL!

I know its about changing my behavior and patterns. Ick. Why do I have to fight so hard with myself you know? Its the addicted brain that talks to me making the excuses. I have to learn to kick the addicted brain right out of my head.

Well.. Not drinking today thats for damn sure!

So happy so see you Happy Johnny. Yes, getting more involved in something is a great idea.

RC, I'm not quite sure. I've been doing well though since Saturday since I first took it. So maybe it is working?!

Overit, Yeah. I've written that book of excuses why to drink

I think the church thing would be a fab idea for you. you should think about it. Help you kick the habit for one and at the same time help you grow spiritually and grow even closer to God. It really made it so much better for me.
