Morning amber and anon and all who follow. Its a nice sunny morning here in Dubln. A hike in the welsh mountains sounds good. Day 20 for me about just about 3 weeks sober. I feel so much better i lost a fw ibs and my skin is better. Enjoy your day whatever your plans. I'm goin to an AA meeting at 1pm and then maybe go for a coffee at a seaside cafe sit outside and enjoy the sun. :sun::cupajoe:

        Hi Anon, Amber and Firefox

Hope you're mountain walking went well Anon, sounds like a fantastic way to spend the day. I'm still attacking that treadmill, still only on interval running though.

Amber - Yes trying to Carpe Diem here too. Been keeping busy
Firefox- I'd love to be spending a nice sunny morning in Dublin. Beautiful, enjoy it. Day 20 - well done.

I'm still plugging along, day 18 for me. Finally feeling the benefits, took a while but feeling good. Keeping busy and haven't been on here as much as I'd like, but think about it lots.

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

Great work everyone. Keep it up. Nearing the end of day 11 here and with a busy day at work, running kids to sport, cooking dinner, doing some house work my mind had no chance to wander. I'm really looking forward to a hot bath and to get stuck into the novel I'm reading.

Hi all fantastic an all your progress, Im not sure I have been on this thread before but I may have??
Anyway after 6 months of wasting huge amounts of time drinking and smoking.. ( amazing how much it can become almost like a full time job!!)... I have papers piling up everywhere, pressing issues like passports to be renewed, photos Ive been promising to download for moths to my poor old Mum.. the list is endless
But today I finally completed Day 1.. I'm so happy because I just thought of it as 1 day and didnt think about tomorrow... So Day 1 has been in the making for 6 months but now its done.
Thanks for all your inspiring thoughts, advice and stories. I have started the Lglut should I take 3000mgs?

Hey guys. WWB, could do with a relaxed evening with hot choc and book myself. (not neccessarily in the bath, the couch will do ) But with all this soccer madness, not possible

Patrice, Got to go check this but think you were on here yesterday?! This is still one of my favorites! ODAT. such a great principle in achieving sobriety. One Day at a Time!!

Not an L Glut expert but 3000mg sounds like a good dose?! I personally take 1000 mg capsules twice daily. Not sure if that's enough though.

Hi guys, I hope you don't mind me joining you, you are all doing so well! :goodjob: Day 2 for me here, and still feeling strong...got up early today and tacked some financial stuff that has been getting me down, up until now I have been kind of sticking my head in the sand and feeling sorry for myself so it's a step in the right direction. I don't even want to THINK about how much money I have wasted on booze over the years! :upset:

Off to work in a bit, I hope you all have a fantastic day
It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth. :teeter:

Hey Alicia, Welcome to the ODAT thread

Well done for the second day.. It does get easier then the first couple of days. Believe me.

yeah. I share those financial hardships and must say I probably spent many fortunes as well. Wouldn't nearly be in as much trouble had I never touched that first drink.

But yesterday is yesterday and I can't do nothing about it. I can do something about it today though. It might not zap away my problems. But it will get me one step closer. And the same for giving up the drinking applies to getting out of any sort of trouble such as financial strains. One step at a time. Don't worry too much about tomorrow but rather worry about beating today. ODAT!!!

Together we'll do this. And when the going gets tough, come here and ask for help.!!! It's kept me out of real, real trouble before

Hi Alicia well done - Day 2 for me also and someone who has lots of financial crap going on!! Its amazing how we much hide the expense of AL just because we still get that pay cheque at the end of the month!!

patrice - fantastic and now its day 2 keep going :goodjob:

Johnny - dentist just a routine job and hygieniest, no problems thank god - I was tempted to ask them to sew my gob up for the next 28 days :H:H

Well I'd probably still find a way if I really wanted to drink. Maybe intravenously :H

On a more serious note, why not consider Antabuse?! If your liver enzymes are allright off course. Could do it for 30 days? (not for everyone... was great for me though )

Antabuse was like sewing up my gob for me. Was just what I needed. But different things for different ppl off course
