    Passed my first real test

    Hiya well I have been 10 days AF (apart from 'the slip') and today was the first time I had been to a social gathering since I stopped. It was an afternoon party for kids and adults at the only place here where you can bring alcohol. I have avoided that place recently because EVERYONE brings booze cos it makes a change from drinking in the house... or at friends houses'.
    But I took some coconut juice and soda water and didnt touch a drop!!! of AL
    So Pleased and gave me more confidence to realise that I can sit at a table with other people drinking. Early days, I know but was a positive first experience.
    I am taking supplements and the L- Glut which seems to be helping
    Thanks to all you guys too for helping push me up that hill

    The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

            Good for you Patrice. I remember that feeling well. And I actually had just as much fun without alcohol and no rough next day..

            Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

                            I've got my first test tomorrow with a family bbq. I haven't ventured out all since I went AF but I think it's time to now
