My Name Is Curt And I Am An Alcoholic

:welcome:Hi Curt, welcome . The sleep issue should clear up eventually, and you'll be back to normal sleep. Are you under medical supervision? There are meds that's really helpful.
    Good luck.

I guess I learned another lesson on this journey. You can't switch one form of booze for another.

I switched to wine, something I have never enjoyed, and guess what happened?

So, here I am with candy and a soda.

I refuse to beat myself up - I know I can do this. I gotta quit with the excuses and do it. I just printed 17 pages worth of material from the toolbox thread.

I am so filled with guilt and remorse that the easiest way to deal with it is self medication thru booze.

I give that up, I can't anymore. Hopefully I can put together 48-72 hours of sobriety and then I'll be close to freedom.

      Here I go.

        Curt,
I am pleased that you have printed the material from the toolbox thread.. it truly is fantastic advice..
All booze is bad for us, no matter what form it is in.. I understand too of the guilt and remorse you speak of - however, booze will only make us feel more guilty and remorseful - its a vicious cycle! stop the cycle today.. take one day at a time, tell yourself you will not drink today and see how fantastic you feel.. staying AF is truly the only way to beat the demons.. AL just makes us give in to them,
        Katie xx
