i'm not sure i like the title of this thread.

the police are here to serve and protect. i think the only persons who would use such derogetory terms towards the police are folks who are doing wrong in the first place. it is us that choose to drink to excess, to put ourselves out there, either behind the wheel of a car or on foot or public transport, not the police. when we are drunk we can be being a nuisance without realising it. the police have to make sure we don't hurt ourselves or another as a result of our being intoxicated.

as a drinker i've not drove completely drunk, but i've always drove the next morning, still full of alcohol, not in full control. i always feared i would be pulled by the police, but in the same instance, i always knew if i did, then it would be my own damn fault. when i choose to drink, i must make the decision to take responsibility for any incidents that occur as a result of that drinking.

      just my twopenneth.

          Hello,

Flip I hope you are ok, and I'm sorry for your misfortune, whatever it was.

However, could we have a moderator here please?

I don't feel that profanity in the title is a good reflection on MWO and the positive way we try to help each other here.

I also believe that our police force deserves respect for their efforts to uphold the law.

Well, like I said, I am a bit saddened by the title of this thread, because two young police officers were just slaughtered in Tampa, both with wives and children. Some scumbag just opened fire on them during a routine traffic stop. 5 children in the world growing up without their Daddys and from what I read about these men, they were both amazing human beings and fathers.

Thought we'd gone all 'Public Enemy No 1' over at MWO!!

Look - you don't get stopped by the police for no reason. If you were driving drunk then I've NO sympathy there. If you were causing an affray well there you go, you were drunk and that's annoying to some people!

When you've sobered up look at this as a positive step towards your recovery and thank goodness you haven't killed or maimed somebody.

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

I was stopped for nothing - Someone had been causing criminal damage and for some reason they thought it could be me!! I was only down that road because I was trying to take the back route home on foot. Glad I was too drunk to find the ally ways as last time I was in a very depressed mood and felt like chucking myself in the river...

                    Hey Flippers,

The drinking won't help if you're feeling depressed. You know that right?!

Get yourself into a better place. Let this be day 1AF. You will start feeling much better.

You taking anything for depression?! (I am).

I have looked thanks for sharing - My GF told me that I have driven the wedge just the little bit further between us to.

She was asking me why I felt I needed to stay out drinking - Guess what I couldnt answer her.

I have scratches on my arm which I do not recollect getting.
I fell of my seat in the pub like a right idiot.
I arrived back at 1am - Where the hell was I until that time - Passed out some where - Who knows?

I was the drunk man that they refused to serve because he had drunk too much(that hasn't happened for a while) - Guess what I walked down to the next pub and drank.
