You alright Flip? I think he means he's wasted and the police stopped him and took down his info. Not sure what that means. In the states the cops would have arrested you. But I'm guessing your not under arrest since you posted.Sober since 4/8/10 -OVER 150 DAYS AND GOING AF!!!!

I'm not sure either. Hope you're alright Flip. I don't know how they do things in the UK but is getting your info taken like getting a ticket or a DUI? I have heard of rare cases of people getting stopped for drunk driving and the cop taking them home instead of jail. Still have to go to court, pay fines and go to classes just get out of the night in jail.Sober since 4/8/10 -OVER 150 DAYS AND GOING AF!!!!

I will always be ashamed of the times I drove under the influence. Always. I will always be grateful I did not hurt anyone. Always. The rest of my life always.

POLICE
Hello From Tampa,
Yesterday two of our finest police officers were shot dead in the head by a routine police stop. Both 31 years old, one leaves behind 4 young children ages 8months to 9, and the other officer leaves behind a 9 month old pregnant wife who was so much in shock she went into labor with their first child.
Thats what just happened to our police who serve and protect us here.I LOVE MY SEROTONIN AND BOOZE SCREWS IT UP!!!!!

amen sk8punk.
and here i sit on the eve on day 7 (clearly not the first day 7) and wonder will i make the commitment this time?
i will stay close and gather strength and start to formulate my plan.
i am most worried about when we go back to work and the stressors start full strength.
buying a tv and getting service is a huge lifestyle change for me by the way.
boredom was one of my many triggers ... and coming home after work. TV can't hurt anyhow.

Well if you're here in the U.S. and watching CNN 24/7 on the Gulf Crisis you may be tempted to grab a bottle or ten Seriously though '67 I am glad you got yourself TV. I used to drink every night after work. In NYC, before you catch your train home it's standard operating procedure. So, now I walk to Grand Central Station rather than take subway. The exercise is good, I avoid the taverns and I can focus on my workout when I get home. Hope this helps!? Do I miss the old routine? Maybe, but I'm usually too busy to think about it. See that's the key...fill those voids!!!Outside of a dog a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog its too dark to read

You have a point there Techie. I only got satellite last winter and just disco'd it. I found I was substituting it for a night of drinking but still not fulfilling my goals. So now I just work my ass off and hang out here. lol
OI that is terrible news.

In the UK DUI is taken very seriously - you are breathalysed on the spot, arrested if over the limit and taken to the station for a more accurate scientific test. You then spend time in a cell sobering up before they can charge you(your reading has to drop below the legal limits to do this).
Regards being drunk on the street - if the police think you are being a pain, drawing attention, at personal danger, or causing trouble they will take your details. Sometimes they'll give you a lift home but generally they'll tell you to sober up and sort yourself out. Only doing their job but they can appear very nosy!!!!
I had the odd lift home a few years ago having commited no crime - seems they couldn't let a girl in a short skirt walk home on her own!!!!
