Oh wow. Well I think if you coped with the moutwash you shoudl be fine with regular non AL food.

I know some ppl get reactions from vinegar, etc. But I never had any reactions to any AF food.

Just be careful to avoid food that HAS AL in them obviously. That'll give you a reaction for sure.

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

I take half every second day. Just because of the cost. And it's enough to scare me off the booze. (and enough to cause a SERIOUS reaction).

However once I get my Antabuse from the new source I'll take 250mg every day. I can afford it then.

yeah. 250mg is definately enough. Your resistance to AL also gets stronger the longer you take them. I know some ppl take 500mg but that's definately more then you need to get the desired effect.

                            Morning!

Wow, what a busy thread already this morning!

Day 11 for me. Feeling soooo good. I get a bit tired from the Antabuse during the day ... as it has that side effect for me. But slept well and now up and attem'.

I find that 250mgs is definitely enough. Although I have never tested the waters with taking it and drinking. My doctor prescribed 500mgs (taking one 250mgs x 2 a day). I did that the first two weeks when I first got it over a year ago. I ended up breaking out in cystic pimples on my forehead. (another side effect is acne). So, I am only taking 250mgs every 3 days now. Which is enough to keep me from drinking.

The pills here are about $1.00 CAD here. Well worth the expense! I could easily spend (during binging) $30 dollars in alcohol and cigarettes a day. (alcohol and cigarettes are very expensive here). So all in all, it is well worth the buck for the drug. Not to mention waking up feeling so good is worth it!

Anyway, must get child fed. She just announced she is hungry.

Have a great day everyone! xo

I just arrived back from Canada Milton Ontario a week ago, beer and smokes are around the same price over there as the UK.

No al in the superstores though .The LCBO and the Beer Store is the place you have to go which I think is a good idea as it isnt highly available to the individual. I went to the Cinema here (UK) and you can buy a beer to take into the pics with ya.
