    Tell us a little bit about yourself..

    Hi all,
    I just thought I would start this thread to help us learn a little bit about each other.. I thought it may help us to help each other. Though no-one has to give any information that they are not comfortable with..
    Me:
    I am 32, and a mother of a 2 year old little boy. Me and the father are separated, about to get divorced, as he was very abusive towards me. I now have an amazing new partner..
    I am a Registered Nurse, and have been for 9 years now..
    I am from the UK but came out to Australia 8-9 years ago, and now live in Sydney..
    And that's the basics about me!
    I would love to learn more about you all on here, if you are comfortable doing so..

    I am a married mother of two beautiful boys......18 and 15
    I have been happily married for 19 years
    I have been involved in multi property (apartments) for 24 years
    I used to sing with a band and thats it about me
    I love my family more than alcohol.:h
    Live in the Solution....not the problem

      Ahh here we go!
      I'm 41, married 12 years or so, 12 triplets 1 boy 2 girls, work in IT and play bass in rock 'n roll bands primarily for the sex drugs and rock n roll aspect (more like loading gear out at 3am, doing the books, making sure we get paid, maintaining gear and other similarly glamorous tasks). Not much time for anything else really.

        Hi All
        Im 36 year old mum of two lovely girls ( ages 13 and 4). I've been married for 13 years to a wonderful man. I'm a teacher but left work a few years ago to be a full time mum Thats me in a nutshell!!

          48 Mum to two teenage daughters 16 and nearly 18.
          Married for 25 years
          Full time Mum since the last one was born.
          Was highly functioning wine drinker but miserable on the inside.

            Tell us a little bit about yourself..

            35 (next week), single bloke in London, I have left a series of unsuccessful relationships in my wake. I've worked in construction for a long time apart from a break of 4 years (99-03) when I studied Applied Psychology. I write and perform my own stand up comedy, I work and perform with Improvisational comedy groups and I am an Alcoholic.

              Have 2 beautiful daughters 28 and 23
              2 amazing grandchildren whom I adore
              Been divorced for 8 years
              Have a partner but not sure where thats going
              Working in property developement

                Good idea katie as I have always wondered who I was chatting to.

                I am a 38 years old. Single mum with a 6 year old boy. Currently seeing someone for a year
                Born in the streets of South Korea and adopted by a european family at the age of 4.
                Raised in the caribbean. Lived in four different countries so far
                Qualified goldsmith and self employed with a jewellery business
                I design and create jewellery in silver,gold and platinum

                I am also an alcoholic but has STOPPED drinking. Hallelujah.
                I also cannot type fast
                Be strong-

                  I am 30 yrs old -
                  Have a partner,
                  No kids
                  Im a postie but have told them I want volountary redundancy.
                  By trade I am a carpenter/joiner.
                  Think the job change from that to a postie did my head in as I knew I wasn't in a job I wanted to be in and not going any where fast. Time for things to change. Have been at the PO for 6 yrs, did a refresher course in carpentry ICA level 2 and achieved a distinction last yr.
                  The PO is like The Bemuda Triangle.

                  Suffer anxiety issues on top of the ones brought on by AL(evil devil)

                  hope no one know me lol Sod it....

                          Tell us a little bit about yourself..

                          "Hi, my name's Phil, I'm an alcoholic!"

                          I'm 40 years young and was born and bred in Liverpool UK.
                          I have a beautiful daughter called Jasmine aged 5 (6 in November)
                          I'm single and have been for a number of years. (clearly not ready for a relationship anyway at present!)
                          I live at my mum's home at present, but feel it's where I need to be right now whilst I sort my life out. My dad died in 2003, my gran died in 2007 so the only close family I have left is my 2 brothers and my mum. Those are the family relationships that are important to me.
                          I'm studying for a diploma in Therapeutic Drumming and Rhythm Work and hoping to start up my own business early in 2011. Once I've qualified I hope to use drumming and rhythm work as a therapeutic tool within addiction treatment centres in my area. I already have 2 offers to work with addicts/alcoholics in 2 organisations.
                          I'm involved in 2 singing/music groups already where I'm waiting to participate in one as a mentor to addicts/alcoholics involved in the group who are still quite 'raw' shall we say!!
                          I'm heavily involved in my local recovery movement; passing on the message that recovery is possible and trying to put to rest some of the dogma attached to people like me who were once sick. I attend AA meetings at least 3 times a week and follow a 12 step philosophy in my life.

                          I love spending time with my daughter. I love listening to music and playing my djembe. (especially down the beach!)

                          I can also be lazy, I can feel lonely, isolated at times, fearful, insecure and many other things. But I'm working at it and that's what drives me. I'm passionate about my recovery and I want to better myself in life.

                            Tell us a little bit about yourself..

                            I am 38.

                            I am not married but live with my partner of 12 years.

                            I have 3 gorgeous brats 10, 6 and 2.

                            I also mind 2 kids during the week so I am always surrounded by children.

                            I love to laugh and be stupid.

                            I have dark days tho and they piss me off.

                            I used to drink 6 shots of vodka every night and maybe 8 on weekends.

                            It was part of my everyday life, like brushing my teeth.


                            I don't do it anymore and I don't smoke either.
                            I am a better person for it.

                            Ohh and i LOVE junk food and chippers.
                            Ohh and I am 4 foot 10.

                            Lastly, I am trying to grow a big arse hence the avatar...(no that is not me,but might be soon)
