What a walk home
Just had to go to Guildford on the train to see a Psychologist for a assessment. Stopped for a sub(food). Got the train back - My house is about 1 1/2 miles (on foot) from the train station. Damn cravings every pub I went past or near was saying come have a beer mmmmm. But I decided to get wet on the outside with the rain and not on the inside. I even txt someone saying do you fancy a quick beer? Glad they didnt txt back..... :goodjob:Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down - Eat Them Alive

What a walk home
How did you find the assessment Flip?
There was many a time in the past when I would sit at the bar in my local looking lost and forlorn. I knew I needed to go home. My partner and baby daughter were at home waiting for me. I would wait eagerly for the boss to come down so I could sub another ?20 to buy more drink, yet at times he didn't appear. When he did, it was like I'd hit the jackpot. Sometimes I felt I wished he'd never appeared at all. I so desperately wanted to be at home, but as soon as he appeared it was like a magnet had grabbed me and pulled me back to the bar. I couldn't move.
Be careful your not gambling with your own sobriety here Flip. It's very easily done. Text messaging a friend is one step beyond craving as you've now entered the realm of intent. What would of happened if he had text back with an offer to meet you in the pub? Just be aware of your own intentions and whether or not you're making a conscious decision to drink or it's really a craving.
Glad you got home in one piece though, even though a little wet!
Many Blessings

Flip I'm glad you made it through that craving OK. To Hippie's good point, what is your better plan for the next time a craving comes along, as it most likely will? (maybe calling a sober friend????)
