Additional Positive Side Effects of Being AF

When I was drinking I would always avoid looking at myself in the mirror, because the damage on my face was such a blatant reminder of the damage I was doing to my body. I love not hiding from myself anymore.

Additional Positive Side Effects of Being AF

      Hey Folks:

Day 16 AF for me and I have discovered 2 more added benefits of being AF this week:

      1) I can enjoy walking my dog late in the evening before I retire (previously, I was too embarrased to go outside for fear that a neighbor would see me 'pie-eyed')

      2) I swear my taste buds are becoming more alive! I had chinese food tonight for the first time in a month and I tasted things that I hadn't noticed before (that's a good thing!)

Also, I continue to be delighted with the improvements I am seeing with my blood pressure - now averaging about 125/65

On my way to the 30 day summit - a little more than half way there.

      See you all there!

Good stuff PA Guy! You may need to go and try on a pair of 32's again too!

Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

It's interesting to read about all of your heart and blood pressure troubles. I have that, too, and it's going down now that I'm 12 days wine-free. Mainstream medicine says that if you stop drinking you'll lower your bp slighty, but it seems our results are much more significant.

            Pinda -

I'd like to believe that the reason I've seen a dramatic improvement in my bp is that aside from my alcohol abuse, I was in pretty good shape physically and aerobically due to my exercise regimen. Once I removed the alcohol from my system, I was able to reap the benefits of lowering my bp.

            Good Stuff!
