my case-i need help
Hi bobee welcome to MWO
It sounds like you have a pretty high physical dependence to alcohol and as such you probably should ask for some help to withdraw. Can you see your GP and get into a detox? Or maybe he will prescribe something to help with the withdrawals. Its dangerous to quit cold turkey when you are so dependent, it could cause seziures which may be life threatening.
Once you are clean then the trick is staying that way, it can be done. Kudzu is a great herb for keeping cravings at bay. At least I found it so. But there are also lots of other ideas and help too. Stick around, get some support and lets get this monkey off your back.Living now and not just existing since 9th July 2008
Nicotine Free since 6th February 2009

my case-i need help
Hello Bobee and welcome, you have found a great place, I would echo the points made by the Startingover and add that there is a lot of support here and no matter how far we think we have fallen there is always a way back. Well done for taking the first important step, you can do this. Personally I havent taken Kudzu but lots swear by it, I find L-Glutamine excellent for cravings.
Keep safe
KTABEthanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

my case-i need help
Hi Bobee, and welcome. Startingover seems to have some good thoughts for you on a potential first step with withdrawal symptoms. You could start another post, and ask for advice on a specific drug or treatment option - there are many people here with experience and who can give caring advice. The good thing is that you want to stop, and you realize it has to happen now. You can do it.

my case-i need help
thanks guys...
thanks for the input. i feel i have found a safe place to air my dirty laundry, as well as in my intensive outpatient care group. talking about makes it come out real, and that's what someone living in denial for so long needs. meeting and chatting w/ people just like me helps me do that.
