    In search of AF days

I have been down this road before. It is no joke to me and I know the battle will be a challenge. This past spring I got through 85 days AF. Since May have been drinking steadily again. This site helped me tremendously in my endeavor of the first few weeks and I stayed connected until my Ego got the better of me. I give sincere thanks to all who helped and inspired me in the spring. I now must find my way again. I extend peaceful thoughts to everyone and pray for my return to a life of gratitude.

85 days is 81 days longer than I've done in about 30 years. If you could get there once, you can get there and farther.

How does your ego get the better of you? Boredom, panic attacks or "I deserve a treat" get me into trouble.

Hey Hyper - As Fletch says you did it before so you CAN do it again. Put together a plan for changing your usual drinking routine, you will know the things that trigger you the most and therefore need to avoid. Lots of people have slips and they usually reinforce how we dont want to live anymore. The fact you are back here shows you want to quit so keep posting and you will get the support you need. I wish you well.

Fletch - :welcome: to MWO if you havent already, check out the tool box there is lots of great tips on staying sober https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html

Welcome back. Thank you for the peaceful thoughts. I know what you mean about the life of gratitude and humility. I'm not where I want to be at all times, however in those brief moments of sober tranquility, I know that's what I want forever. We can do it.

        And yes..welcome Fletch!
