    Day 8 Crash

I went through all this 2 years ago and today is day 8...I got woken up early by a thunderstorm but felt alive enough to get up then but for the last 4 hours I feel as though I my head is a slushy and I have brain freeze. I don't recall having this sluggish thick head almost like a nausea free hangover. I have been drinking lemon water non-stop since I started this, so I am well hydrated...very few OTC medicines if any of which never affected me this way before. My guess it is a withdrawal symptom of some kind but it is a real drag down feeling. Blah!!! Anyone with expert analysis here??

      Day 8 Crash

It doesn't HAVE to be about alcohol 4tb. There are all kinds of biorhythms to the body and when they cross the midline or peak low, there can be a pretty noticible effect. Relax & keep treating yourself well. You're doing great! :goodjob:

        Day 8 Crash

4tbz, can't speak to your symptoms specifically. What I CAN say about my own experience is that the physcial toll that AL took on my certainly increased with time. Hangovers got worse. Withdrawl feelings got worse. They say in AA that when we relapse, we pick right up where we left off only worse - as though we never stopped. We're not getting any younger.

Soldier on - it can't help but get better without AL.

            Day 8 Crash

            Hi there, 4theboyz,

            Long time no see.

I agree with DoggyGirl, it gets worse and worse over time. Been there done that.

My last time in rehab (geez) one of my counselors smiled at me and said "Cindi, many don't get to come back, they die instead."

I don't mean to sound maudlin at all.

It is good you are back. We are the lucky ones.

            Let's stay that way.

            Love,
            Cindi
