Just want to stop
Loads of us! YOu have come to the right place. I see that your mood is hungover, be sure to get loads of liquids today, and begin to think about how you are going to keep from drinking tonight. Would love to get to know you better. WElcome to MWO!While we may not be able to control all that happens to us, we can control what happens inside us.

Just want to stop
Hi
Hi Bobbles
I'm out here and with similar thoughts and feelings and yes I want to stop and did at 10pm on sunday evening. So, so far a whole 36 hrs since I have and onto my 2nd day. If I hadn't come on to this site and spoken to all of the wonderful and supportive people I don't think I would have got through it.
So keep using it and sharing your experiences... You will be amazed just how many people are just like you and us. I wish you well.

Just want to stop
I can so relate to that statement, usually in the am. By the evening it's usually a whole different story. I am working on putting some af days together. So far so good. I am sure we will all have huge challenges before us, but it sure helps to know that you are not the only one out there! Good luck, and have a wonderful weekend!

Just want to stop
Hi Bobbles.
I was that way in January. Desperate to quit. This is the place to be, to get and stay sober. It does require a bit (alot sometimes) of hard work, but I am sure you will find the strength within yourself. By coming here you have already made the first huge step towards getting your life on track. Well done. There are LOTS of us here who have been where you are now. And there are lots of success stories too. Come on over to the newbies nest if you like. You can ask us anything, there is usually someone with a similiar story or an answer.
Hi Jewels, Bungle, Fancy C, Patti - welcome to you all. Download the book, get the supps and CD's then get ready to transform your life.
Hi DG too.
Good luck to all you with your journey.
Hippy ChickI finally got it!

Lost and Confused
:new:How how how can a substance be so mentally confusing. Seriouslsy, I don't understand how I'm so scared to drink and yet be so scared to be sober at the same time. When I'm hungover or embarassing myself all I tell myself is "i'm never gonna drink again", then as soon as I feel better I go and drink another bottle because I start thinking too much about how messed up my life is becoming and I get bored and I need to numb my thoughts. I just want to stop so badly but I;m scared of how empty I might feel and how I'll cope with things that can get thrown at you in life without being drunk. Grrrr this is so frustrating. I want to make this my day 1, but I know I need lots of help.

Just want to stop
My doctor got me to quit Coca Cola at the same time. I never realised how addictive that soft drink is. Almost as hard as the booze in some ways. Now I'm on to 7up.
Also had my blood pressure pills increased so I feel a bit out of it until I get used to the dose...something I never got from booze.
Booze never ever gave me the relief I was looking for.

Glenn - glad you are off the cola, so many food & drinks are so addictive and bad for us, the 7up is still loaded with sugar which can become an issue if you are no longer getting it from the AL. If poss try to cut it down too replacing it with fruit juice or flavored water."In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer ."
