Overit needs to get her ass back in gear too!!!!! I was doing super super great, had something like 44 days sober. Was on Antabuse but stopped taking it.

Really would like to do this without the Antabuse if possible. I did it before! I'll join you in a commitment to getting some serious ass kicking sober time back!!!

Ello, ello All! Goggling for a snipet of inspiration today (beside all you wonderful people) and this one touched my heart and brought the tears to my eyes. Hope it inspires you too.

          URL Makeover

          English Translation of "Nessun Dorma"
          Nobody shall sleep!...
          Nobody shall sleep!
          Even you, o Princess,
          in your cold room,
          watch the stars,
that tremble with love and with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
my name no one shall know...
          No!...No!...
On your mouth I will tell it when the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
          Vanish, o night!
          Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!

              Following Your Stories

              Hello,

I have just started MWO this week. I did good the first two days, but slipped on day 3, although I drank less than usual (1 beer took me an hour and 1/2 to drink and I left wine in the bottle). I have more questions than answers right now and hope to follow your stories as you make the committment to stop drinking for 30 days. My goal is moderation, but for now I want to be rid of the cravings to drink at all. I am open to your experience.

We are all going SO well !!!
Bridge - what is "applied" exercise?? :H:H

Start of day 5 here. 5 days is about as much as I've been able to get to for the last couple of months, so I need to stay strong over the next couple of days. It helped that at my workout yesterday, I really felt my energy levels being much better than they had been.

I love the positive and "working at it" tone of this thread.

Catdancer - welcome and you are in good company! Well done on your two days! I suggest that you download the book and have a look at these threads for a wealth of good ideas!!

                  Thought For Day 5

                  Calmly determined
You can be determined without being frantic. You can be powerfully purposeful without thrashing around and bouncing off the walls.
Let your sense of determination come not from fear, but from love. Focus your energy not on what you wish to avoid, but on what you intend to create.

In a calm and peaceful spirit there is great power. When driven by a positive purpose, you'll always have the energy to move forward.

There may certainly be situations you detest, that you wish to move quickly away from. Yet when that is your only focus, when you're constantly looking backwards, you're more likely to stumble.

Choose where you do want to be, what you do want to experience and the life you do want to lead. Make your goals positive, and your actions will be immensely more effective.

Be calmly and persistently determined to achieve what you have chosen to achieve. And you'll find ways to put every day, and every circumstance, to work in your favor.

                    Day 4.

I think I have already stepped outside myself and given myself the advice to stop drinking the damn wine on another thread!!

Stressful evening, saw someone on tv drinking wine and wished I had one. Luckily there was none in the house. Thats the trick I think, not to have any in. Then she got drunk and I was glad I hadn't had any.

Day 5. Will be difficult, its friday. So I shall have to be calmly determined.

Well done Little Owl. Have you sen the stuff about "urge surfing" in the toolbox thread? I find it really helpful.

I'm telling myself Friday is just another day. You are right - calm determination is the way to go.

Catdancer - I had meant to put the tool box thread up, but it somehow disappeared from my post. (nothing to do with my technical competence of course :H:H) Here it is now

Hi all, day 5 friday here in wet cold NZ! Still two sick boys at home for mother to fluff up the nest and care for her young.
I am losing my voice due to a cough so just as well i can type!
Not hanging out at all for wine which is amazing.....an answer to prayer infact.
Well done girls you are all doing really well and we can all get through this weekend. There is power in your thoughts and power in your words, more than you know. So believe what you are going to do and speak that truth and it WILL come to pass. Only WE can control our thoughts and the direction of our life. It is up to US to make this positive move happen so LETS DO IT!!! xx
