TECHIE'S 30 DAY CLEAN SOBER CHALLENGE

I'm back! Not sure if anyone noticed I was gone...haha

Had 4 dreadful days of illness, slight lung infection so went to the doctor for an inhaler and antibiotics. Back to work today and feeling much better, and thankful that I can breathe!!

Haven't had time to catch up on the boards but that's what I will do this morning (it's why I came to work...LOL).

          Hope everyone is well.

              Thought For Day 9

              Total acceptance
It is through total acceptance of what is, that you gain total control of what can be. By allowing life to come to you, you empower your purpose to radiate out from you.
You cannot successfully fight against what is. For the moment you choose to fight, you're fighting against a past that cannot be changed.

Accept the energy that comes to you in this now moment, whatever flavor that energy may be. Apply that energy to create a beautiful future filled with joy and positive purpose.

Embrace each circumstance as it comes into your awareness. By doing so you will gain access to its positive possibilities.

Live from a place of deep-seated peace. Instead of jumping into a reaction at every turn of events, exude a consistent, confident purpose.

Lovingly accept every bit of life as it comes your way. And you will always find much to truly love.

Good stuff Techie - when we argue against reality we loose..... 100% of the time!

Accepting what is, frees us from the agony of always fighting against the current, when we go with the flow we are supported by the energy of the Universe....

TECHIE'S 30 DAY CLEAN SOBER CHALLENGE

Thought for day 9 really strikes a chord with me. I've been fighting a past that cannot be changed for too long.

"Live from a place of deep seated peace. Instead of jumping into a reaction at every turn of events, exude a consistent, confident purpose" - I decided recently not to stress about things any more. I actually told my daughter I would be an oasis of calm in the middle of all the stress. And there seems to be a lot of stress in the family at the moment.

Its still day 8. After my work out behind the cooker saturday, working on the garden sunday and then not sleeping because it was so hot I'm tired and ache everywhere. I didn't start thinking about wine at work until 4.30, which is later than usual. And I kept looking at my husband's bottle of red when I got home. But I didn't have any. I stuck to cherry cola again.

This is a great thread and is really giving us all a boost! Woohoooo!!

TECHIE'S 30 DAY CLEAN SOBER CHALLENGE

Hey Pink Techie makes a very good point. Hang with us and keep going! And everyone else too!

I also have been hanging on to past events. Hard to let go because it is still very much a part of my present wondering how to resolve it for a better future. This line speaks to me:

Instead of jumping into a reaction at every turn of events, exude a consistent, confident purpose. Must practice this with diligence.

Exhausted from trimming my dog last night. Once I got going I couldn't stop until 2am and I'm only half done! The natural sedatives worked enough to trim with scissors easily enough but no way was I getting the clippers near her which would have made it so much faster. I even tried putting a large sock over her face at first hoping to settle her (kinda like blinders). What was I thinking?? She would just freak each time I turned the clippers on. Poor thing looked like she was ready for the guillotine and probably thought she was too! So that idea was nixed real quick. Have to get her balded now so she can grow fur back for the winter. I'll give her a break tonight (and me) and give it a go again tomorrow.

Anyways....no alcohol for this gal. Yay

Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

No alcohol for me tonight, either.

R.C., what sort of dog do you have? That sounds like a lot of work!

So, today, I went out to the half price book store and picked up some books about yoga, menopause and recovery. I'm really wanting to practice yoga, it's something I've always thought seemed neat, but I could never find the time (too busy drinking) to learn. I need something to calm the inner din, and this just might be the ticket! I'm planning on spending more time on MWO in the evenings, reading and practicing yoga. If I'm feeling weak or challenged, I'll talk with Mrs. Fennel or phone Nora.

Hope you're all doing well tonight!

Yoga was recommended to me too! So, maybe I should actually try it. :H Anyway - just wanted to check in. I'm heading to bed. I'm exhausted and can't keep my eyes open. But, I'm happy to be back here.
                              Thank you!

Alright folks time to call it a day. I had alot of fun on the Tigger thread today. Most importantly, it was another clean and sober day. Especially good to see K9 back and feeling better. Nora is back, and we have Fennel as well. To all of you that are giving your all thank you. Remember, this isn't a footrace, a game, nor is it a contest. It is a group of folks in a common struggle trying to do their very best. Do your very best and if you stumble, right yourself and continue on. Just don't quit. We are all here for one another!
