TECHIE'S 30 DAY CLEAN SOBER CHALLENGE

      Good thoughts Techie.

Very quick check in from me ..... was up really early to travel for work, ran a workshop, and came home again. Going to have an early night - didn't sleep that well last night feeling anxious about the workshop.

Really, really, really felt like a glass of wine when we got to the airport to fly home. Managed to stick to ginger beer. Everyone else had a beer, which I've never really drunk/enjoyed. I dont feel confident that I would have stuck to my guns if anyone had had wine. However, I will not think about what might have happened and instead pat myself on the back for what did.

      Day 10 tomorrow.. Woo-hoo! double digits!! :H:H

TECHIE'S 30 DAY CLEAN SOBER CHALLENGE

Hi everyone, beginning of day 2

Well after a dreadful weekend and a good nights sleep last night I am starting the day on a good positive note, have made a list of all outstanding jobs to be done this week and got myself a red pen to tick them off one by one. I'm off to get stocked up on my supplements because I have a feeling that is what has definately aided me to slip into my bad habits, have a great day everyone
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Good morning / evening / afternoon / time warp everyone! I'm running out of time before I have to leave but I think I forgot to check in yesterday and didn't want to miss it today! My days are sort of blending one into the other. The pace is fast these days and I could NOT do it if I were still drinking. Zoom zoom.

Day 824 for me. 176 left to go for my 1,000 day goal. I need all of you to help me stay sober and get there!

Thanks you bbbj's for your encouragement, and as I've been off a day or two and read everyone's positive attitude towards we 'struggling' ones, I'm staying on, will keep on.... Even though my restart date keeps changing.

Techie, can't imagine such long bike rides. You must be in great shape, sure couldn't be drinking doing that! I'm just trying to get that yoga habit going. Have a good day all!

Sadly, I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm hoping for some improvement tonight. I'm staying hydrated and busy.

                      So True!!!

Just like how I can be so happy to be sober, but not happy enough to KEEP being sober. I think you get my drift. Trust me girl, your the smart one for sticking with it. Me going back to the drinking has brought me NO joy at all. But thats the past, todays a new day.

Are you going to take Antabuse again? I really don't think I'd have lasted this long without it...these wicked alcoholic brains of ours tell us it's OK....arrrggghhh. Maybe you should give the AB another try, just to get some time built up? Hopin the best for ya! :h

R.C., what sort of dog do you have? That sounds like a lot of work!

So, today, I went out to the half price book store and picked up some books about yoga, menopause and recovery. I'm really wanting to practice yoga, it's something I've always thought seemed neat, but I could never find the time (too busy drinking) to learn. I need something to calm the inner din, and this just might be the ticket! I'm planning on spending more time on MWO in the evenings, reading and practicing yoga. If I'm feeling weak or challenged, I'll talk with Mrs. Fennel or phone Nora.

Hope you're all doing well tonight!
She's a miniature Schnauzer Fennel. I may post a pic of her with young Tigs if I don't have to bald her too much and she sits still long enough. I wouldn't want to embarrass her nekkid and all.

                              Thought For Day 10

                              More determined than ever
Let your high expectations push you forward. But don't let them create disappointments that hold you back.
It's great when you expect the best. But it's important to keep in mind that you won't get all the way there immediately, on the first attempt.

When you're disappointed by the results, that's no reason to give up your high expectations. On the contrary, it's a good time to recommit yourself to those high expectations and perhaps to even raise them a bit.

Instead of being discouraged by less than spectacular results, be encouraged by the fact that you're aiming so high. Double down on your expectations by becoming more determined than ever.

You won't instantly achieve what you set out to achieve. The fact that it will take a while to reach makes your goal all the more valuable.

Expect the best and if you fail to get it, continue to expect the best. Eventually you'll reach the goal, and it will be well worth all your positive persistence.

Wow Techie...I was reading about the seasons of life this morning which aligns well with your above post. In the winter we plan, in the spring we implement and plant, in the summer we begin to enjoy some of our work, in the fall we harvest sometimes better than expected or less, but we never give up or get complacent. There will come another winter to devise and refine our planning. Such is the seasons of life. Something like that in much fewer words than the actual text.

Well as some of you know I'm having fun with a visitor for the next few days or so and there will be no drinking. How would I ever focus the camera??:H

Strength, peace and successful planning to all!

Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
