TECHIE'S 30 DAY CLEAN SOBER CHALLENGE

Good morning, everybody...I made it through another day! My sister and grand-kiddos are arriving today. I'll do my best to check in daily- my sister is NOT a drinker, so this visit will be purely kid focused, which is nice.

      Thought For Day 16

      Beauty in every moment
Life is beautiful. In every moment there is something beautiful to be found.
The beauty differs from one day to the next. Sometimes it is overpowering, and other times it is subtle and delicate.

Yet always, everywhere, life's precious and irrepressible beauty is there. Whatever else this moment may hold, it also holds its own unique beauty.

Find a little bit of beauty, and you open yourself to finding more. See that even from the troubles and disappointments, beauty will emerge.

Celebrate the beauty, just because it is. Remember, again and again, through all the ups and downs, how very good it is to experience the beauty that is born in every moment.

Celebrate the beauty, just because you can. For you are the miracle that can know the beautiful miracle of all that is.

TECHIE'S 30 DAY CLEAN SOBER CHALLENGE

Sorry to have been MIA - the people I was staying with while I was away had just shifted and their internet access hadn't been turned on.

I got through the wedding AF, but not the after-match functions on Sunday. I was in a funny sort of mood ...... anyway, I am getting straight back on the wagon.

Wonderful "thought for the day" again Techie! Thank you for that.

Another sober day here - 830. Day one or day thousand, it's still one day at a time.

We are getting ready for some major remodeling so everything is moved off of our 2nd floor awaiting destruction. It was a pain in the butt to move my home office into my "temporary quarters" on the first floor - sharing that space with everything else in a sort of family room. But MAN is the view beautiful!!!!! This room has all windows on 2.5 walls. Celebrate the beauty - yes I can do that today!!!!

Have a great sober day one and all.

                Hi Everyone:

Checking in here and very thankful for another AF day (49).. hectic day with doctor visit, pre-op testing and preparations for surgery next week. I am so happy to have a clear head as I get ready for a 6-week convalescence period. Plan to get to Barnes and Noble this weekend to stock up on reading materials. If anyone has recommendations for books to read, please send them my way!

My reading interests are really varied but I primarily enjoy contemporary novels. I am NOT a science fiction or history fan. The most recent novel I read was "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese.

Congrats on the 49 days PA Guy! I'm afraid my reading wouldn't be very appealing to you. Psychology stuff. Hope the operation goes very well this time with complete recovery.

Have you ever read Pat BArker's "Regeneration Trilogy"? (ie; three books, all with different names - cant remember the individual ones)

                              Thought For Day 17

                              This new moment
The world is new in this new moment. Opportunity is fresh, and possibilities are yours to be fulfilled.
Regardless of what has already happened, today will be what you decide to make of it. Decide to fill it with meaningful treasures of your own unique design.

Don't be hindered by the disappointments of the past. In this new moment, you can choose a new, positive, purposeful direction.

Consider where you have been, what you have experienced, and all you have done. In this new moment, take the very best of who you have become and create some new, wonderful value.

You can learn, you can act, you can understand, you can love, you can appreciate, you can wonder, and you can fully live. Now is when the beauty of who you are can be expressed in a new and unique way.

This new moment is bursting with possibilities. And there is much new joy for you to know.

Patrice I just wondered how you were utilizing all the meat that you must have from cracking coconuts. I'm not sure what I would do. Coconut flour seems to have become popular in the health food market as it is high fibre, low carb and gluten free. I suppose you could slice it, leave in the sun to dry and grind???
