Jodie - your body needs to get adjust to not getting the AL its used to, so just think of the sweats as a way of getting the crap out your system. I had night sweats for about a week and they got less and less each night. The sleep pattern may take longer to settle down but its SO worth it, I now sleep better than I ever did. The quality of sleep when we are drinking is so poor so going through this is all part of moving onto a new and better way of life!

You will be so amazed when you get through this how much better your sleep really is.

No more night sweats, no more waking up when you come to.

Just stick it out and there is a light at the end of this tunnel. It is not a train. It is a good night's sleep.

              Glad you are here.

A cup of hot water with lemon first thing in the morning is good for your liver. Also have a glass of water with a slice of lemon by your side all day. Be sure to try and get a bit of exercise every day, even if it is a brisk walk.

Each day you will start feeling better, keep it up!

Make sure you remember this bad bit - I think someone else has posted recently that one thing that stops them drinking again, is the fact they don't want to go through the withdrawls again.

If it weren't bad we would probably have one more excuse to drink!

The first few days are absolutely the worse! Just keep in mind that what you are going through is very common. It is completely uncomfortable and it sucks, but just ride on through it. It does get better.

Drink lots of water, take vitamins and try to eat good foods. Hot baths are great too. If you have some Epsom salts to put in your bath, I find they really help.

                              Hang in there!
