I've decided to go ahead and start this thread, which I brought up this morning on the ODAT thread. There seems to be interest, as there is most months. I consider myself a long-term MWO member since I have been posting regularly here for well over two years. Following an initial AF time of over 2 months, I have been mostly hanging out with the Mod Squad under Long Term Moderation. The illusion of alcohol-related pleasures continues to fade for me. I have realized that my current mindset is ODAT, I really would rather not drink, whereas moderators do intend to drink again. I am now committed to an AF September, would welcome your support, and look forward to supporting all of those who post here. I will be away for the Labor Day holiday Sept 3-5, so I hope that no one feels abandoned during that time.

Sober (AF) September Challenge
Hi all,
I've decided to go ahead and start this thread, which I brought up this morning on the ODAT thread. I will be away for the Labor Day holiday Sept 3-5, so I hope that no one feels abandoned during that time.My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.Tags: None

Hey Sunbeam! I have always enjoyed your posts as a moderator - I love your honesty. Playing with alcohol is playing with fire to some degree for all of us I think, so good to have you on the AF goal train for September!! Count me in!!!
DGSobriety Date = 5/22/08

Wow, a lot of interest already. Looks like a pretty international crew. I live in the NorthEast USA.
Liverbird, I visited Norway once, what a beautiful land! My family heritage is Swedish, not so far away.
DoggyGirl, did you grow a big garden again this year? I didn't feel like committing to monitoring a thread again on gardening, but anyone looking for info can just ask, and I will try to find out if I don't know the answer. I live in gardening zone 5/6, so my expertise would be less in warmer climates.
One2Many, glad you will be hanging out here too. You have been so supportive to everyone, it is much appreciated. Did you manage to gain any weight yet?My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

And me as well Sunbeam! Day 2 finishing up soon, so a AF Sept. is perfect. Glad you got it going.From the Sanskrit prayer;
"....For yesterday is but a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision,
But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a dream of hope."
