      Sober (AF) September Challenge

      Well.... ITS SEPTEMBER!!!!

I had a GREAT July 2010. Why???? Because I was sober the entire month! I even went downtown to see fireworks with my son, a very heavy party scene. Did it all sober and enjoyed every minute of it.

Then August rolled around, and I stopped taking my Antabuse. Wouldnt you know that my drinking habits went right back to the usual routine. Went to work miserable and hungover yesterday. Saw my boyfriend the night before and really didnt enjoy drinking with him. I definately enjoy being sober around him so much more. My real personality comes out, and not some buzzed idiot.

Ok Step 1 today. Clean out all the wine that I bought buzzed on sale two nights ago. Three bottles on sale for 10 bucks! Going in the trash. (again)

Step 2 will be taking my Antabuse again!!! Either this morning or tomorrow down the hatch again. Lets do this people!!

      Overit
I LOVE MY SEROTONIN AND BOOZE SCREWS IT UP!!!!!

          Sober (AF) September Challenge

I am still here and looking forward to September.

Sunbeam....In a way I feel like I could be one of those people that leaves for no apparent reason. I would like to explain why sometimes that may happen.....I leave because it is hard to feel connected to a social network (for me). I am committed to try better and let it rip in order to feel that connection. I feel the compassion now more than I have witnessed in the past, or maybe I am starting to GET IT. I don't know which, I just want to try harder. I don't think I have stopped posting because I was drinking more or something terrible happened. I probably just didn't feel the connection and life gets complicated all on its own, but not always in a bad way. This journey has been a long one, but it is a journey none the less.

And, I have to say, I am sometimes nervouse about stating my opinions as I am very sensitive. I am very excited for this month and my new level of openess to this forum.

My goal: No alcohol for the month of September for sure, and for the next 15 weeks. (That was very hard to put down in writing. Now I have to do it.)

Thanks for the help from everyone. You may get tired of my lengthy, self indulgent posts, but please don't tell me that.

I like the idea of posting a list too. I think it would be great to see everyones name together. It would also help me remember names.

And remember everyone, progress, not perfection! Thank you, Sunbeam, for suggesting we all post how many AF days out of how many we have been AF. As much as I'd like to be perfect, I may not be, but I still want to do my best and tak to everyone here!

Happy 1st! And Free Bird, feel free to PM me any time, we can support each other and look forward to our birthdays! You're a spring chicken compared to me!

I have to confess since you have asked I would have been 1 year AF September 7 but I had a relapse in August and had to start all over again. I am 10 days AF today. I am so happy to join this challenge as being sober is so much better. Anything that helps get me there is most welcome. Free Bird you can help push me up that hill. With a name like that how can you fail.

September is a new beginning for us all. And there is a lot of us.

Does that mean I hop, or young...or you're going to eat me.

I feel like a young spring chicken and I know that's what you meant.

Sidney, sounds like you've had some good af time...good for you. It is a journey that is for sure.

This group is really getting together and I know we can help each other. Yeah.

                                OK....

OVERIT just took her first Antabuse pill! Just now!!!

This is my second time around at the Antabuse route. I did pretty well the first time with it, so HERE GOES AGAIN!

I can help or answer any questions anybody has about Antabuse if anyone wants to ever try it. I can be the Antabuse voice, LOL!!!

I may have an edge with the Antabuse, but as I said before, its still a battle in the mind. It does NOT take away any cravings, just makes you very very sick if you drink while you take it. Im still going to need help! And if you really want to drink, you just dont take it, so you have to make the commitment to take it.

Im looking very much forward to this September challenge and I hope to be of great support and encouragement and will be looking to you all for support as well.

                                God Bless us all
