    Sober (AF) September Challenge

    Hi guys,
hope all is going well for everyone, I slipped up for the last two nights, but woke up this morning, after having a huge sleep, more resolved than ever, I dont even know why I ened up drinking, but this journey is all about progress, so for me, the fact that I can/want to start again instead of just thinking "ohh well i screwed up I may as well keep drinking" is what its all about. I also wonder if its a form of self-sabotage, I thinks its something alot of people who have a problem with AL may suffer from.
Anyway guys I will be back later.

    Progress, not perfection!!!
A craving wont kill me, but drinking could!!!

Just chiming in witchywoman on your comment about "self-sabbotage." Mine feels like the adolescent who says "I can drink if I want to...naner, naner." Which sometimes adolescents are really good at!
Day 5 AF today a bit tougher than the last 4, not quite sure why but just kept truckin through and kept thinking what it would feel like tomorrow - red eyes, tired/tired/tired/pissed that I let myself down.

        Sober (AF) September Challenge

        Hello Everyone-

Well, it's been 11 days AF (8 on the challenge) for me. Seems to being going OK except I notice that I'm starting to get a bit cranky/bitchy around the time I'd previously start to drink in the evenings (guess the honeymoon is over!) and have to really make an effort to focus on the fact that I cannot in fact "just have one" - been there, done that - over and over again... I'm determined not to succumb but not feeling quite as confident as I was a couple of days ago.

Dewdrop - congrats on keeping AF under very challenging circumstances. :goodjob:

Sidney - love your idea of a Victory Party!
 AF since 29th August 2010

This is where you SHOULD be Patrice - onwards and upwards!! Yes Sid, a 'bit of a do' Oct 1 sounds great. Hippyc sent me a great brillo smiley face site but I can't seem to put them into anywhere yet - might practice them. We can show off our new hairdoes (verbally if needs be)!!

Hi everyone patrice, spin, molly, firefox etc. Day 5 here Glad to see that people are climbing back. One worry for me is that even when people have been AF for ages they succumb to the evil temptation and that scares me so much. I am looking at my triggers for falling of the wagon and there seem to be to many to even write down. However,I feel so positive and nearly pain free without painkillers or booze!

                              Patrice and HDB,
Welcome! Yes, you can still join the group, we still have most of September to go. If you tell us something about yourself we will find much in common.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

A little about myself sunbeam - I have been here before and found the site amazing for help and the support. I then drifted away and drifted back into my old lifestyle I am sorry to say I am starting the vitamin and supplement detox plan today coupled with AF as a kick start to get my ass back into gear. I have been a heavy drinker for around 11 yrs and am sick to the back teeth of my life revolving around alchohol morning noon and night :upset: I have to do this it is ruining my life, health and bank balance. Looking forward to our journey together - hdb
