    Hanging on by a thread

Ahhh it has been the longest nine days of my life. WHY oh why is this so freaking hard. I feel angry. I just can't seem to think about anything else accept getting up and buying a massive bottle of vodka. I have tried reading information on here about craving's etc even trying to follow my own advice to others! Ah. I feel like im going insane. I don't want to be a "junkie" a "alcoholic" a "drunk." Giving into my want for a drink will make me one wont it? I'm not sure if I can take it anymore. I need strength but I feel so weak

Hi Angel, not sure wot to say as i have only been af for 2 days, but i think if you have managed 9 days then that just goes to show that YOU do have the strength and will to not drink. Be strong, remember the bad things of drinking, the morning after, etc... you know the score. sending good thoughts and strength to you, keep posting.

Sheri, the water and lemon idea sounds good. I might go and buy some tomorrow. No, I'm not taking supplements. I might go to the chemist and ask them about L-glutamine. Thank you also for the link. I will read that tonight. Also, would you happen to know where to d/l the book a few people have said they are downloading is? And if it is free? Thank you heaps for your help.

Hi Angel, i have just got back from buying a load of vitamins as suggested in the myo book, not sure if they will help but i am willing to give it a go, i actually got quite excited to think that i was taking a step in the right direction. I found the book helpful and full of the same scenarios that i go through, might be worth a look? As i write this i have a pounding headache and am clammy but i will stick it out and get through today. i hope you are feeling a bit better, keep in touch

hey there Gyco, hopefully they will sooner rather then later. I hate labels. Although yes I guess it is good... thanks again for your post.

hi dorsetdude, haha what did you buy? I am going to go to the chemist tomorrow. Also Sheri suggested to me to try heaps of water with lemon? So I might try that. Lemon also helps with weight loss ive heard... whoot! Oh shame about your headache. How many days since your last drink again?

2nd day today, i bought magnesium, calm tablets, b-50, don't laugh, primrose oil (say's on label it is good for the menstral cycle!), milk thistle, and kudzu, all as stated in the book. I also got some i-glutamine and ginko as i read somewhere on here that these are also good. I am willing to give it a go, its better to spend some money on vitamins than bottles of wine at the mo.

Angel, you have been a great source of accomplishment to me. I'm only on day 6 but have followed your posts. Sheri your advice is awesome! I upped my L-glut yesterday to 2250 and boy do I feel great this AM! I also have been taking the melatonin 30" before bedtime. I also agree with the mental piece - it's so huge right now. I took a picture of the wine bottles lined up on my counter the wine I had consumed in 6 days and was disgusted. I'm going to post the picture on my computer.
Angel and dorsetdude I'm early in this so we gotta do it. Let's live a life we love instead of going into the dregs of the bottle.
Hang in there take the supplements, take the calm forte and the melatonin for sleep. So far so good for me. I'm sure though I'm going to have the day when all I want is to drink my loneliness away. But I'll come here first. Thanks all!

Hang in there! Maybe eat something high in protein. It always helps me!

The lemon water is also excellent!
