    I'm New

    :welcome: Sobriety,
This is a fabulous site. You'll find real support from caring people who know exactly how you feel. I keep finding that others are writing about things I have done, emotions I have felt and fears and defenses I have experienced. That's very special when you have felt scared and alone as long as I have. Well done, and keep posting. I'm 13 days AF and working hard.

      I'm New

      Hi Sobriety!

I also can relate to your story - wine was my downfall, was drinking every night, falling asleep instead of talking to my kids, forgetting stuff I'd said I would do, having blackouts etc etc.

I've been mostly af for about 2 months (have had a few slip-ups but managed not to drink too much on those occasions, certainly not to extent of blacking out). My first few weeks were pretty stressful but I'm feeling heaps better now, enjoying feeling clear-headed & no hangovers!

      Glad you found us here!

            I'm New

I only joined yesterday, I drink far too much, this morning from 8.30 consumed 1/2 bottle of vodka, I am now on the wine, I hate myself so much, often tried to end it all, how can anybody like me? I'm going into hospital next month, hoping to dry out, there are reasons or use to be excuses for the way I am, but I lost those reasons some time back. Good luck to all.

Hideit.....do NOT think of yourself this way. You deserve to get better....you obviously know you do or you would not have made the appointment to go to the hospital to get clean. You need to try and stop drinking and find something to occupy your time. Sit down and make a list of the reasons you should be AF. If you found them once then you can find them again!!! Think of any reason that will help you.....think of how AL affects you and the others around you. Think of how nice it will be to wake up without a hangover or without needing another drink. You have to WANT this to make it happen.....you are worth it! Keep posting....we are here to help!! :l
