hello to all, been away busy working and surviving this economic downturn, have not posted in a long time but check in weekly to read posts. i found mwo last april, thats when i had last my drink, it was 4-10-10, have had some moments when i thought i might drink but have stayed strong and fought thru it. life has been much better af free,my relationships with significent other and kids have become much better. life with a clear head is priceless, the best thing is waking up fresh and ready to live the day. staying positive and sober. will try to do better about posting, good wishes to all!!!

Welcome back, Buddy. Way to go on your sobriety! That's awesome. Isn't getting close to your family one of those unexpected perks that just tickles you? They must be very proud of you right about now. And we're proud of you too. Thanx for sharing with us.

I was wondering something and hope you don't mind me asking... but when you felt like you might drink, did you tell your SO or someone else? Just curious because I tell my SO when I think about drinking. And even if he just says, "Nawww. Don't.", it just kind of disarms my addiction to say it out loud.

Hey Buddy, I remember you when you were around first time - bloody well done staying sober all that time!
Cheyenne, I think that is a good idea. I get depressed from time to time and I think it triggers drinking. Never admitted depression to anyone but now my Hubs ask me every morning how I'm feeling and if I say I'm a bit down he just is a bit more gentle with me and it seems to work a treat.....so far!!

Hi Sheri, thanks for the kind words. Yes I agree, after 6 months or so for me as well, things really did get better and easier. And my true, old personality, that I have been missing for years is coming back and its great. Life is really so much better. Take care,
