    TIME FOR THE TRUTH.....

Pink Angel....I feel ljust like you do. I am at the point that nothing can stand in my way. But, if...perhaps....something did and I slipped, I know I could come here for support and no one would think badly of me. Congrats to everyone no matter what day AF you are on!!!

          TIME FOR THE TRUTH.....

          Hi there Pink,

Just dropping by to say Congratulations :l You sound so committed and determined and isn't it great when you suddenly realise that you can do this? Once I hit that point it has been coasting all the way (apart from a few tough cravings) and I'm on Day 29 and if I can do it I damn well know that you can.

Huge pat on the back girl!!

Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

Good for you PA! :yougo: Congrats on Day 5 and more importantly, for realizing the falacy of the idea of drinking in moderation. Most of us just can't do that successfully for any length of time. I can really relate to your comment about laying awake at night saying "never again" only to be drinking by 4PM the next day. I did that nearly every day for YEARS.

            Strength and hope to you!

                                TIME FOR THE TRUTH.....

I am AF for over 8 months. I gave myself permission to not worry about diet for first 5 months but now I feel confident and for past 3+ months have been walking daily and really being careful on the eating and have lost a bunch of the weight that I had slowly gained over the past 15 years (I am 58 year old female).
Remember that booze commandeered our reward center and set our pleasure set point higher than a natural state. This is why it is important to be realistic and do fun and meaningful things every day. We are remodeling our brain connections for healthy living. It is slow going at times but I know it is working.

So good to read everyone's posts. Good luck to all.
