I've seen your posts and responded to them in a couple of other places. I'm so glad that you're just jumping in there. I have to tell you that I tried to quit on my own and failed. I think the support here is making the difference for me (day 12 af). Somehow it just keeps me grounded and strong when I chat with people here. There's nothing like "being around" people who can relate to what you're experiencing.

There are many people here who have "fallen off the wagon" and gotten right back up - everyone supports them -- no one judges. It's just phenomenal.

Just wanted to add my welcome to you. I am new here too.. I only discovered the site on Thursday whilst searching the internet for information on side effects of the drugs that I am on.
I have been AF since July 8th,, so three months. I was hospitalised for a couple of weeks and am now on Antebuse. Feeling really proud of myself .. and planning to stay that way! I never thought that I would get this far and I am so glad that I have! Still not managed to give up the cigarettes yet...
Anyway, good luck with your day one. It is SO hard but, as you know, so worth it. The thought of going through wthdrawals always made me keep on drinking.. now the thought of going through withdrawal is stopping me drinking. I prefer it this way round!

Hi Everyone

Haven't been back on here since Saturday night when I joined butthanks once again for all your support. This is a wonderful place. Well the good news is that I haven't had a drink since Saturday night so today will be day 3 AF. Feeling really good about it and even though I could have murdered the glass of wine my partner offered me last night. I said no with confidence. I know I can do this!!! I am thinking of you all and hope everyone is having a great day.

I was so hoping that you would check in and let us know how you are doing. Have you suggested to your partner not to offer you alcohol? It makes it much easier if temptation isnt that close by.
