HALLO all my fellow Sept/Oct campers and all the people who've joined today for NOvember - brilliant! Thanks for starting us off Anon, lets really kick ass this month folks, I feel really positive re. alcohol anyway, am a bit up and down with moods, but once I'm sober I can handle anything! Choice, I gather you're engaged - I missed that,CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
That is fantastic, and now I have no idea why I'm still pink but it's rather cute so will leave it as such!

Will now venture round the site and get the goss. See you all tomorrow!!

Hi NOvember crew! :l Thanks for the congrats about my engagement. I feel like I need to stick a little closer to the sight. I'm over the moon, but I could see not being as vigilant about staying AF. Especially with people just being nice and wanting to celebrate with "a drink",,, this will be a good time to come out of the sober closet :H

It's so great to see people from the September and October challenges coming back and I didn't get a chance to count, but looks like a lot of newbies! :goodjob: guys this is an amazing bunch of people with a wealth of support. :l:h

Best of luck to everyone! For those who feel down in the dumps, hang in there, your in a good place where someone is bound to understand because we have been there too. :h

I'm in. Looking forward to a successful mos. of NO drinking. Yesterday which ended 20 or sominutes ago was my 1st day. Am happy with that accomplishment alone. Will be reading and posting as this is what got me through my initial 30 days which led me to almost 3 mos. last time. Thanks to this site and info I have found ways to say no to alcohol. I will return here to this sanctuary to rest my load when it becomes too heavy before I will resort to drinking. I am a long way from where I want to be. As has been said though, The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.
Success to all desiring to be free of alcohol.

                    Sober NOvember Challenge

hi everyone, and welcome to those joining :welcome: Hyper, well done on getting your first day under your belt. Stick close and we will help as much as we can. Ican - fair play to you too, you are doing great! You are right to look to other activities - I just stopped socialising for a few months as that was my main trigger, and then I had to find what to fill the time with - try to find things you really enjoy, it'll make it easier? It's taken me nearly 4 months to start contemplating exercise as an alternative to AL :H Choice, glad you're sticking close - I find it's when I start thinking I have all this under control that I get a craving from nowhere, and I'm so glad to have this site and everyone on it for support. Hi Oney!! Limers, job hunt is slow, given current economics - so if you see a bunch of kids hanging around looking for a teacher, let me know Molly, are you going to stay in the pink?! Hi to everyone else that I haven't mentioned - memory like a sieve.

Well, I've fallen out of my meditation/yoga in the mornings recently, been far too busy daydreaming Up early this morning though and determined to get back on track. I hope everyone has a wonderful day :l

                      Sober NOvember Challenge

Good morning Novembers! Welcome Hyper, and congrats on your first day!

Neart, I am also trying to get into the exercise thing...it feels great when it's over, that's all I can say for now!

Spinning, Choice, Limers, One2 great to hear from you all. Starting on day 12. My "pink cloud" is evaporating a little, so I think maybe the exercise (ugh) is a good option to feel a little better about myself.

Have a great AF Tuesday everyone!

I am not going to be around much until Tuesday as I am off for a few days walking in the hills staying at a hotel and hopefully no temptations to drink. Home late Friday and then off to Spain 1st thing on Saturday for the half marathon where there is a free bar at the finish ARGHH. I am determined not to sabotage the hard work I have put in to fall for a free bar!
Thank you so much to the people on the September and October threads as I could not have done all this without you.

I went out for my last training run today 13 miles and could have cried as I felt so grateful for this new life I am living:thanks:

So everyone keep posting your ups and downs as we are here to support one another.:l

                              Sober NOvember Challenge

Good morning ... Day 2 for me.... I am starting to feel excited about this challenge as opposed to "worried" or pessimistic ....What gets me excited is the posts from those who have managed without AL for a period of time and have shared how wonderful and worth it sobriety is.... I will, however, be very aware of my pattern - which is when the hangover/guilts/regret wear off (about Day 2!) I start to weaken - because I feel better!! I have said this many times over the last couple years - I just don't understand why feeling better wouldn't make me want to continue to NOT drink (since that is WHY I feel better - no AL!) but instead, once I start to feel better I start thinking about how great a glass of wine would be (it's NEVER just a glass - at least a bottle to 1.5 bottles)....UGH!! Its baffling to me - if something makes you feel good - why not stick to that????

Anyway, I am going to try with just getting through one day at a time - and today I am not going to drink - and tomorrow I will feel good... Something to look forward to!

Hope everyone else is feeling optomistic and aware of our weaknesses.... I am praying for a sober holiday season without the feeling that I am missing out on something without alcohol.... I know I will not miss out on anything if I stay away from Al - but I believe I will miss out on ALOT if I drink...

Today - I do not drink! Love to you all.... Thank you for this thread...
