Limers, that is horrible to have to go through! I am so sorry, you really don't deserve that kind of treatment. I think sending him off to get a dose of reality will be good for him.

Anon - holy crap! That is awesome! Congrats to you!!! YAY!

Limers I am sending you positive thoughts - I am so sorry you have to go through this. You know, sometimes no matter how great you are as a mom, no matter how much love and guidance you give them, they decided on their own which path to take and sometimes they take the path of the knucklehead. I pray he comes around. Stay strong and we are here for you!

Limers I am sending warm thoughts to you. What a hard situation for you it seems sometimes that no matter what happens to our kids we always manage to feel responsible. Bloody drugs and bloody alcohol!!

Anon you are just amazing and so inspiring to all of us ? I?ve got to get back into the exercise routine again, thanks for the kick up the backside! Wagoneer I just love the new avatar and so appropriate. Choice have a great week in Melbourne, I was sorry to hear about the ?friend? who was encouraging you to drink I think that?s one friend you can do without at the moment. What is it with people trying to force you to drink so that they can feel better ? I think they may well be threatened. Just you hang in there, you are doing the right thing and it?s brilliant that your boyfriend is joining you.

Limers so sorry you are having all this trouble with your son but good on you for not letting it side track you with a drink. What a great idea in sending him out of his comfort zone, just keep remembering ?this too shall pass?. I had a lot of trouble with one of my sons in his teens and he put me through a helluva time at one point. When he had his own son a couple of years ago he actually apologised to me for all the trouble and admitted that there was nothing I could have done that would have changed anything. He was in with a wild crowd and hell bent on going down that destructive path. He got through it, grew out of it, saw the light ? I don?t know and neither does he but he?s a lovely young man with his own family and running his own business now.

Molly I?m so glad the graduation day went well and you had a lovely day, you deserve all these good family times and so much better for being sober. I really appreciate being ?present? at all the family gatherings now and actually really engaging with everyone instead of being obsessed with my next drink or sneaking off to top up with my hidden bottle.

Hi gettinghappy, Spinning, Enja, Peace, Iful, Ican, Choochie, Mere, JC, Oney, BB and anyone else I?ve missed ? not intentional lol

                  Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

                    Sober NOvember Challenge

                    Limers,
I went through something similar when 2 of my boys, then 17 and 15, stole from me. My older son (26 now) happened to get a hold of one of their phones and read some texts (I have 3 sons). The 2 younger ones had stolen my rings and pawned them! It was late at night and I drug both of their a$$es out of bed and let them listen to me for hours on end. As soon as the pawn shop opened I had them go and "buy" my rings back. There was also some drugs going on at the time and this all happened after my husband had left us and I was left to deal with them on my own. What I am trying to get to without drawing this out that time has a way of fixing things if you can deal with the present. Those 2 boys are 22 and almost 20 now and straight as arrows. The older one is married, the younger one in college. I thank God that they just "grew" out of being in trouble.
I hope it all works out for you and believe in time it will. Just remember to take care of you. No one person or situation can make us drink.
My strength reaches out to you.

Today is sober Tuesday for all of us!

                      Sober NOvember Challenge

And I wanted to lighten the day for all of us :-)

A man is at his house, it's late at night and he's getting ready to go to bed.

There's a knock at the door, the guy answers and there's a snail and he says, "I like to talk to you about a magazine subscription." The guy is furious, so he kicks the snail as hard as he can and slams the door.

Two years later there's a knock at the door. The guy answers, and there's the snail. Then the snail says "what the hell was that all about?"

                      LOL - Had to share!

                      Stay happy and sober

My mom always said that she never judged kids on how they were as young teens and twenties, most will grow up to be good people and will be hoping that everyone will forget what they were doing at that time. ( I have hoped that myself. And my parents and I are very close now, It wasn't always so.) Good Luck Limers!

Choice - Melbourne is one of my very favourite cities in the world. Just a great place to potter about, and they say you can't get a bad cup of coffee there. I'd love to go back. And actually see the place properly, not be hungover or drunk... I could say that for all of NZ too, and a few other places. Did I tell ye I am being brought to London at the start of December for my birthday?! So at least I will remember all of that! Am very excited :danthin::danthin:
