    Sober NOvember Challenge

    Hey Team NOvember....

I'm here! I'm here! :danthin: Thanks, Dewdrop and Choice for asking after me - I've been checking into the thread but haven't been posting. Happy to report that my AF journey is going well - still really enjoying going to bed sober and waking up hangover free, honestly, it's one of my main motivations for staying AF! :H Have occasional thoughts of thinking about/wanting a drink but nothing I can't dispel by remembering the reality of how I drank... Turkey day tomorrow, it'll be my first main holiday/celebration stone cold sober since - wow, can't remember when? Probably when I was pregnant with my son 18 years ago!

Peace and Molly - hope you both feel better soon. :l Anon - you're still amazing and astounding me with your running achievements... you go girl! Hugs to everyone - can't believe that we've almost made it to December :goodjob: btw has anyone come up with a good name for the next challenge?
 AF since 29th August 2010

Its the 22nd and I have been off the wine for 4 nights. Although I am late in the game for the November challenge, I hope you continue with a December challenge... I imagine one of the toughest with all the christmas celebrations... so that I can complete a full month.

                Mornin' guys,

quick check in, at hotel awaiting a client - looks like I am busily working while I am lurking here!! Welcome Spirited it's never too late to join in or start going AF, if the time is right then the time is right. You'll get a lot of support just read, read, and read some more.

We need to sort out a name I guess - I still like Limers Cringe Free Christmas or what about Delightfully Dry December although I also like Determined December because Christmas is going to require a lot of determination.

Great to see you back Enja and good to hear you are always lurking :l

                Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

                    Sober NOvember Challenge

                    Good morning all,

Day 90 here for Enja and I

Honestly the way I have been feeling the past week or so I am proud that I didn't turn to the booze to rid myself of my anxiety. I know I am going through PAWS right now, maybe because I was on the pink cloud pretty much from the get go I am suffering from the emotional withdrawal now. But my friends, I am going to beat it.

I asked my hubby last night (don't know if I was looking for the green light or what but) I asked him if he likes that I am not drinking or if I should start again - something to that effect. He looked me in the eye and told me to remember how much happier I am without drinking and that this bad spell will pass. He is my rock I love him so much :h He easily could have said, have a drink to take the edge off, but he has no idea how much he helped me by not enabling me by telling me to keep my sobriety #1. I feel so much stronger today and determined not to drink.

So I am going to be "Dancing Through December" with a big smile on my face and love in my heart. I was planning on drinking this coming weekend, but feel free now that I am back on the right path.

A warning to all, this addiction plays many mind games. Push through them, read up on PAWS (thanks Choochie :l) and let's put this beast to rest.

Peace, thrilled to hear that you're working through things. I can so relate to your hubs story. My husband tells me the same about me as a drinker vs non drinker -- he likes me better sober - says I'm a happier, better person. Anyway, I really KNOW that we are so much better off without the poison and I am relieved to know that you're figuring out how to beat the beast - the PAWS article is invaluable, isn't it? For any of you who missed it, here is a link:

Spirited Oliver - :welcome:you have found a good place in MWO! I attribute this site to my being able to stay sober. Lots of great people and advice here. If you haven't found it, the Tool Box has worthwhile reading:

Everyone - have a great day - going to visit my sister today for tofuturkey! Whatever you all decide on the name for December works for me.

                      Hugs,

                          Sober NOvember Challenge

My goodness where is everyone we are like a deserted ship. Peace I am so glad that you are feeling on top of things, it would be awful to get as far as you have and have to start all over again ? I just can?t imagine that. Hi Choochie you seem to going great guns too, isn?t it amazing how quickly the days start to rack up once you hit the 30 days?

Limers knuckle under and get that essay done ma dear; I remember leaving mine until the last minute and sometimes having to work through the night to get them in on time ? why? I used to say that I worked better under pressure WTF?? Thing is once I got them out the way I always promised myself I would be better prepared next time but never was, I think it?s got to be something to do with juggling studies, work, kids, house etc the usual spinning plates that women are so good at.

                          Hope you are all well

                          Dewdrop :h

                            Sober NOvember Challenge

Hi everyone! Been missing a few days here and there a lot recently - I think I"m trying to find a balance of how much I want to be online? Haven't figured it out yet, but I am still AF and still thinking of you all Whenever a craving hits, I remember to surf that wave, and I think of everyone here and of my boyfriend - the people who support me 100% in staying sober.

dewdrop, how is the meditation going? I am going to meet a woman on Monday who trains people in transcendental meditation (i can't spell it!!) to learn a bit about it. I can only afford the free introductory talk :H

Choice, happy thanksgiving! Hope you had a good day of it? I remember being in Oz for Christmas and it was waaay too hot!!

Molly, hope the family situation is working out - thinking of you x

Anon, I didn't read back far enough, but I gather you are still running-way to go!!

Limers, tell me about it -one assignment I did had to be uploaded online at 5pm - I remember at 4.45 pm trying to figure out how to make my fingers type quicker!!

Choochie, Oney, Enja, Wagoneer, Oliver, Peace, Jackie and everyone else I've missed - hope its a good day for you all x

Choice how lovely to be in your hemisphere for Christmas when we are all freezing here but I know what you mean about missing home at celebratory times.
