I hope there is some comfort for you just knowing you are among so many people who truly do know what you are going through from first hand experience. Drinking in order to try to "stuff" our feelings and hurts and heartaches - but then having that "solution" let us down - is one of our common bonds.

I hope you will keep hanging in there and focusing on just staying alcohol free for right now - one day at a time. You really WILL be able to sort through the issues if you are sober. When we are drinking, we just get stuck in the rut of our lives, and there is no getting out. Sober, we have a shot at a better life.

I know it feels miserable right now. It won't always be that way. Keep coming here, keep up the willingness to see your doctor and talk to a professional about your issues, and most of all be willing to do whatever it takes to not drink.

          Strength and hope to you,

          DG

                  When will it get easier

Janie Mac Rob, I still can't multi-quote, I sort of glaze over when someone explains to me how to do it
I also found the anxiety and panic very hard at the beginning, it was only when I realised it was normal for someone 'drying out' to feel like that that I came to terms with it. When you know that it goes away it just seems ok to suffer through it. I too am on Lexapro - I went up thro the doses up to 20mg now, but it does take quite a few weeks to kick in. I, like you thought it wasn't working - but now I feel wonderful. If after some weeks it isn't doing the job , tell the doc and he/she will change you to another one, it is trial and error.
Good luck Rob - I'm another Dub - there are quite a few of us around! Let us know how you're doing

                      When will it get easier

                      Hi Molly
                      Thanks for the reply.
I got my prescription of lexapro on tuesday and thought i would just leave them in the cupboard and beat this myself without tabs
They are there for when i need them. I tried to do more in the gym and talk to my family to get past it
But it wasnt to be, my nerves got the best of me on Friday. And i had to start
Have to say this website is great. Wish i found it 2 weeks ago when i was at my wits end
But i feel much better today just getting stuff off my chest and finding out that im not as alone as i thought i was )
                      Talk to ya soon
