New here. Drank too much chardonnay. Pretty much a daily drinker, anywhere from 2-4 glasses and then sometimes the inevitable 6-10. Got sick of hangovers and frequent blackouts. Just finished the book Controlling Your Drinking, eye opener was according to my weight it takes only 3 glasses of wine for my BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) to be way up there and not much more than that to be in black out territory. While making plans to cut back, quit, etc. I noticed a pattern. The times I did have a beer and I'm talking most times 1 light beer while playing golf or lying in sun, I always drank more wine that night. It was like it prepped me for what I really wanted! So far I have cut back to more than half of what I was drinking and I do not drink daily. Am planning to go AF for either 30 days or this book recommmended at least 2 weeks; I'll either do 21 or 30 days starting next week.

How Much Did/Do You Drink
I drank 3-4 glasses of red wine 3-4 times a week, unless I was mad or partying, then it could be way more and I would be sick the whole next day. I have been trying to quit for about 10 years. Don't know why I keep going back. Lately I have had a racing heart and sweating, decided that is the last straw. I couldn't stand it. I am on day three but at a conference where the wine flows and they keep delivering the bottles to my room while I am away. I am hoping to stay strong!!!Don't worry, be happy!

Well I've been drinking lots lately, everyday ... at leat 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 bottles of white wine. My husband is my drinking buddy and we drink at home. Starting around 4 pm to bedtime. Makes me sick just saying this out loud.Growth means change and change involves risk, stepping from the know to the unknown."

How Much Did/Do You Drink
Checking back in to say I'm on Day 3. This is a first for quite some time as when I cut back I still drank every other day. Did I read that it takes 3 days for the alcohol to get out of your system?
We can do this, ok? Maybe easier for me to say as I, fortunately, am not having withdrawal except for slight anxiety. Last night I slept well which I was beginning to worry about. Sure hope I don't gain tons of weight, feel kind of bloated. Maybe cuz I'm not dehydrated?The pain of discipline is less than the pain of regret.

I drank more than half of a large bottle of wine if you know what I mean. So that would be about one and a half regular sized bottles. Every day. More on my days off. I stopped buying box wine so that I knew how much I was drinking because with box wine, I never knew and didn't want to know and that is not good! When we went to Jamaica, we brought back some local rum and so if that was around, I would have a glass of that before my regular red wine and that's quite a bit of AL for woman of my size. (This rum is no longer in the house...all gone!) Although I am tall, I am thin and sometimes I would skip lunch just so AL would go to my head quicker on an empty stomach come cocktail hour. I can't believe I did this for so long! As a side note that relates to AL consumption in men, my husband had a doctor's check up yesterday and they want to put him on a new drug for low testosterone. Although my husband works out almost daily and is in good physical shape and has a healthy diet, he does drink too much beer (I think). The doc told him to cut down on carbohydrates and I said, well, there's goes your beer! He said, yeah, I know. Apparently, the high amount of carbs he is taking in could affect the testosterone levels which are very low and causing him to feel depressed. I hope this new drug works out but I am from the world of natural medicine so I'm not keen on anyone being on prescription drugs, especially hormone related ones. I'm speaking from experience cause being on the pill for a decade definitely messed up my system! Anyway, no AL for me today, I'm at day one and my goal is to remain sober for the month of June to really get the AL out of my system and then see where I'm at.Whatever you invest in the circle of LIFE is what comes back to you. How Much Did/Do You Drink
It has varied for me over the years. As little as a 6 pack of beer a night (not very often) up to a 15 pack of beer, plus whatever else was in the house (cider, rum etc.) This of course was on nights where I had to work the next day. I imagine I consumed up to 30 beers on Friday and Saturday. Sometimes Sunday too, which really screwed me up for work on Monday.
I feel like a freight train when I start drinking. Once I get going, it is really hard for me to slow down. Which is why I always started drinking as soon as I woke up on the weekends. Sometimes as early as 4am becuase I couldn't sleep. Really scary looking back at it.
