I'm starting my rest of the year sober challange today!

    Hey guys-
Checking in. Feel great again. Managed to make the gym 4 days in a row - always makes for a great start to the day ESPECIALLY when not drinking the night before!
    Good motivation.

Hope everyone has a great AF day!

Afternoon all, I am so tired today, my head feels all weird, I just want to go home and sleep! When (not if but when) I get on the other side of this weekend without AL I hope I won't be to tired! It's really annoying! I went to sleep at 8 n got up at 5 that's 9 hours I so should not be tired! Well happy AF Thursday to y'all I'll check back in tonight. . .I think we lost struggles, that makes me sad I miss her! If your out there struggles check in or PM me.

Good to see you still going strong here jenny. Keep pushing through. We CAN deal with the ups and downs and energy ebbs and flows of life without AL. Lots and lots of people do it every day, and we can too.

I'm still here and AF.. Good that we are here together.

Hi Guys, I'm checking in so you haven't lost me. It's great to see you all here, really somehow it's so uplifting after a long day. :l

Jen, I can relate to sometimes feeling like there's just not enough sleep -- especially at the end of the day. I can't wait to just sleep in this weekend and do NOTHING. Okay, there's never Nothing to do, but at least less than during the week.

Have a great evening everyone. Struggles, if you're out there, please check in!

I'm starting my rest of the year sober challange today!

Thanks for the support everyone! I looked up my local AA meeting place and am thinking of going Friday or Saturday. I had cravings tonight, that seams to be normal for Thursday lately, I just pushed them away and kept on driving, guess that's what cha gotta do! Have a great night everyone!

Hi Jenny! I've been attending AA meetings regularly for the last month - they are all TOTALLY different, so I have different groups on different days. One thing though that's the same for every single meeting is that every one there wants you to succeed, and will do anything to help you! That's a great feeling... oh, and one more thing, someone in every meeting has struggled with, and done the same things you have - and made it through!

                  Have a great one!

You're not alone Jenny. I think all of us have battled cravings. Thursday is a big trigger day for me, for some reason -- I think it's the day-before-weekend syndrome or something. Anyway, I have cravings that seem to come out of nowhere, I'm feeling great and all of a sudden there's a craving.

I'm just trying to ride them out and hope they fade -- I'm telling myself make it through this 3rd weeknd (okay the first was 1/2 of a weekend) and it'll be better...hopefully it will be the case! Stay strong and let's hang in there together!

Good morning it's Friday! I'm glad for Friday cause I'm off tomorrow but Friday is the slowest day of the week! Plus the more you have planned for the weekend the slower Friday goes! Because of this fact Friday is one of my least fav days! I kinda like Monday with its fresh starts and back to normal from the weekend. Anyway I'm good this morning. I'm still enjoying the sleep part but I don't wake up bouncy this week I just wake up tired and alittle depressed so I hope that that will all change next week. If not I will tell my therapist about it on the 22nd and see what she thinks. Well have a fab AF day all! Glad to have you all here with me! I know I said I'm not counting but Day 6! Been a long time since I made it past day 6 or Friday and Saturday but were going for it this weekend! No AL!

Good Morning Everyone - just a quick stop by for me. Another fantastic night's sleep and feeling over-the-top happy to be free of alcohol!!

Jenny, I think you're so early on in the process that your body hasn't had enough time to adjust. Once you can get to 30 days, I think you'll start to notice a big difference. Think of how long you've been drinking. 6 days isn't a lot in comparison - it's a great accomplishment in the quitting drinking scheme of things, but not for your body yet. Be patient.:l

ML, Korlan you guys sound like you're doing really well. Good for you!! BTW, Korlan, there is an AA Thread under Monthly Abstinence that's really good in case you ever want to join in there. I love that thread - probably my favorite. Doggygirl and others there are a wealth of information.

Hope everyone has a super AF day and weekend.

                          xx,

Good morning guys! Feeling good, and strong this morning. Thanks for the reminder of what making it to 30 days can mean, Choochie.

I had such strong cravings last night I almost caved. I actually went and sat in the bar/grill of the Hotel that I'm staying in, and contemplated ordering a glass of wine. Luckily the waitress was slow and I got up and left. Went to my room, took a shower and posted on this website. So, I'm going to focus on 30-days and take it from there.
Have a great day all! I'm happy it's Friday. Feel great now, but last night made me nervous for the weekend.

ML - you have done yourself an enormous favor. You will never regret not drinking! You're doing so well, I hope you'll be strong and give yourself this chance.

Thanks Chooch. I am going to give myself this chance.

The more days I build up behind me, the harder it will be for me to want to break that chain. So, I'm heading into the weekend with my eye on making it through the end of the year sober. I think if I break it up into small chunks it will be an easier thought. I guess that's the message behind ODAT!
