Good evening everyone! Busy little camp here and then everyone went away! Got a bus in AND home!, the busmen were even pleasant! I am sooo sooo tired tho, doing anything in this weather just seems so exhausting, so an early night for me and hopefully will be able to drive tomorrow.
Anon, I'm so glad for you you have the house back, it must feel heavenly - I'm no good for visitors.
Right, off to bed, hope you're all having/had a nice day Chooch, Oney, Jenny, Wagon, and all else - thanks again for minding me, hope your mr grumpy cheers up Anon - I'm sure he will now that he has you all for himself

Just a quick check in today. Molly sounds like you have a 'keeper' there after all - an apology that's pretty good. JennyN congrats on day 3. You can do this you know, just keep your eye on the goal. Anon hope your life returns to better than normal quickly. Sarah the other times I had some af time it was hard for me to be around my husb and son drinking especially when it used to be me and husb but now it is husb and son sitting there after work and 'relaxing' with a drink. I asked them to go drink in the shed and they did! Both only drink 1 or 2 and then stop anyway. I think it was more the 'habit' of it that was making it hard for me. This time (day 16 today) I feel like I have an inner knowing that I don't want to drink again and I am just looking after me and not taking much notice of what they do. I just make sure I have my non-al drink on the go and filled up.

Madmans - so the full moon thingy is real???? Hmmmmm maybe. Wagon - are yo awake yet?

Hey there sleigh riders! It's so wonderful to read up on everyone. Choochie, I am really enjoying all that your sharing about AA. Molly, so glad to hear the air has cleared with the hubby. Jenny, I'm glad your feeling good on day 3, and anticipating what kind of cravings you may have for day 4. That mental prep work when we are feeling strong can really help us through the rough patches. Anon, bravo on getting through all the pressure of house guests sober! I'm glad you have your bed back. Good job Mazzie on day 16, I loved crossing the two week mark. That's when I started to think like the little engine that could. "I think I can, I think I can." Madman, I'm so glad you popped in and I hope you do so more often. Whew... Everyone!! This sleigh is so fun because it's so full and I'm proud to be on it.

Sarah, when I started the AF journey I had to take what I felt to be "drastic" measures to get through the first 30 days AF. I had my boyfriend remove all AL from the house. Maybe for the first 30 days your hubby could refrain from drinking around you. It's not forever and after 30 days you can revisit how your feeling and then he can continue to be a normal drinker around you. For me it would have just been to hard not to just think I could drink and start the AF journey later. But every situation and relationship is different. Good luck on what you decide to do.

Hello Sleigh! Busy day today, so didn't have time for posting. I'm finishing day 10 or 11...I'm losing count now .. can't believe it! Anyway, I'm still sober so that's what counts!

Sara, I do not keep any AL in the house. That being said, my husband who also can drink 1/2 glass of wine and put the rest away, (drives me nuts) has agreed to go along with not keeping any around to tempt me. When we go out he might have a drink and he does keep some cognac hidden somewhere around the house so he can enjoy one with his cigar, now and then, but that's it! I know myself, and all it takes is one weak moment, and an open bottle of wine would be poured in a glass and down my throat! (Might even skip the glass!)

Glad to hear you're all so strong and positive out there! Let's keep this Sleigh going into the New Year!

Hi everyone!! I got my mojo back:thanks::h.Well every:hne (actually that heart slipped in by accident but I'm leaving it there cos I mean it)!! I feel so much better today - the snow is melting the sun is out, mr grumpy is....well, less grumpy anyway, and I'm even looking forward to christmas!!
Hi Sunnigirl - love that sleigh (hate the friggin snow tho!!), how you doing now girl? I missed you around.
Mazzie, great to hear you feeling different about the drinking - I know exactly what you mean. We sort of started out together on the nest with Paps and Nora and Hipster and all, the group that's here reminds me of that support group and I think it's so important!
Choice, I agree with you about getting thro those 30 days any which way you can, your own inner strength kicks in after that and you can then choose what way you want to live.
Wagon, is there ANYTHING worse than a sleepless night with a sick child:upset:, sending hugs your way! Hey Mylife, Chooch and all else who'll be checkin in!
