Hop aboard Santa's Sober Sleigh
Hello sleigh! Just a quick check in at lunch to say Hello and woohoo it's day 12 for me!! I just love waking up in the mornings now. I feel so good!! No gagging on the toothbrush and trying to find a cream to get those bags out from under my eyes!
Choochie, good job avoiding triggers,
Jen, Sharky, Anon, Wagon, Molly, Choice, everyone else (sorry if I missed someone, it's a big sleigh!) have a fantastic AF day!! :l

Hi Sleigh Riders-
Just checking in after a few days away. Looks like everyone is hanging on and enjoying the ride despite some ups and downs. :goodjob:
I went to my first Christmas party at the weekend and came away unscathed :H actually had a fun time and because I was sober, noticed for the first time that quite a few others quietly switched from AL to AF drinks during the evening. Apart from the host I only told one other person that I wasn't drinking anymore and they were fully supportive of my decision when I explained that I was drinking close to two bottles of wine every night (this person usually has a couple of glasses every night and is OK with that). I drank sparkling berry/apple juice in a champagne flute with a couple of frozen cranberries floating in it and it looked just like one of the cocktails being served and nobody else seemed no notice that it wasn't a *proper* cocktail. What felt very strange was not having a hangover after the party, but I can get used to that!
Actually, I guess I'm here today because I feel a bit unsettled after a dream I had last night where I had two glasses of red wine. I was fully aware of choosing to drink and then after felt awful and full of remorse for letting myself and all of you down. Hopefully it was my subconscious teaching me a lesson because my thoughts were drifting towards perhaps trying to mod in the future.
Big hugs to y'all. :l
PS I'll be back later to drop off milestone congrats. :h:heart: AF since 29th August 2010

Hop aboard Santa's Sober Sleigh
Hi All,
Quick check in - I will be very sporadic this month as it's my busiest time of the year at work and when I get home at night I am all computered out. I can't even get on this site at work with how busy I am at this time.
Happy to hear everyone sounds good, I am doing much better. Went to the Dr and got something to help with this awful anxiety I have been battling. Running every morning, so that is helping as well in addition to my new found joy of meditating.
I am confident I will make it through the holiday parties without imbibing, I am not having any cravings but I know I will be in some situations where they can strike at any time. I will be driving to any events we go to so that will help.
Have a great day all..:h

Fabulous Idea!!
Wow guys, I logged on and read from the first post till the end! You are exactly the kind of people I need to be around now! Stopped for 2 weeks, and then messed up for one. Starting again on Day 2, and I feel good about it; I'm not feeling that great as I was - but reading these posts totally got my perspective back!!
Thank-you for being there!

And of course, you'll make room for me on the Sleigh!Sober since 12-07-2010 awprint:

Hi Korlan, and welcome:welcome:. I was heading to bed but just wanted to let you know that we are here, this place has saved many of us from a very bad place. Keep reading and posting - good on you for the 2 weeks, you know you can do it now and you'll get heaps of strength from coming here! My daughter is in Canada (Toronto) so I'm used to being in her time zone (in my head!), so have a lovely evening and see you tomorrow!

Hop aboard Santa's Sober Sleigh
Hi guys! Everyone sounds good. I'm not sure if I've had a drinking dream. I did wake up one morning a few weeks ago and thought "I wish I didn't drink last night- oh wait I didn't" So maybe I had a drinking dream I didn't remember. I felt like I had a hangover... but didn't- really strange, weird, and yucky feeling. I can't believe how much pain I use to put myself through with those hangovers... So many times I think, "why am I doing this?" Glad those days are over!
Korlan, :welcome: I'm so glad your here :l I don't know how I could have gotten through my first 30 days and beyond without these wonderful people.

:welcome:Korian. This site has saved my bacon many times. So keep reading and posting.
Only just got out of bed and it is 9 O'clock. How lazy am I? Delicious I dream about wine all the time but I usually wake up and think Thank Goodness I don't drink.
Love to all to come today.
