:welcome: Pearl and good morning to everyone else. Its the start of day 10 and i'm just havin my nice little caferierre of Italian coffee Tesco brand lol. Yesterday i treated myself to a nice grey long cardigan with a lovely detail on the end and edges, its one of thos e cardigans without buttons that draps around u i got it half price in the sales. Also got grey leggings wit little button fastners on the end and a lovely candle in a holder half price. Long time since i had any retail therapy so it cheered me up. I spent about the price of 4 or 5 bottles of wine so nice to see something for your money rather pissing it away scuse the language. Also no money left for al so even if i crave drink tough lol! Paid my bills and got most of my weekly food shop in if i had bin drinking who knows wot i wud have spent. Feeling good mood wise and my sleep is starting to improve a bit. Well thats me so far. Well done to all your successs so far and heres to a good wednesday to you all. :handbag::cupajoe::choc:

Hello Guys!

I've had a really busy couple days at work and today won't be much better. Visitors from our corporate offices are visiting and I'm their "tour guide". The only positive is as the designated driver no one even blinked when I ordered sparkilng water while they all ordered drinks!!

Have a great AF day all -- I have lost count of my days since I've been so busy but I think today is day 16 for me??? Wow, feels great.

:new: Hello January Jumpers! I have just joined you all and I am so grateful to have MYO and the opportunity to be a part of this forum. It has been very therapeautic for me and for that, I thank you! I have been sober for 5 days (previously, a daily drinker of several glasses of wine). I have posted an introduction to myself in the "My Story" link under the post of "Salutations". It took me a day to write it...lol, and that was good therapy in itself. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and wish everyone a wonderful AF day and let you know that I have made the "plunge". I plan to stay AF permanently.

PS, Is anyone else out there in the middle of the Northeastern blizzard happening right now? I'm planning to make an AF snow angel later today...the first one in decades!

Firefox, by the way, you had just mentioned about some retail therapy and being able to buy things with money that you would have spent on AF. Me too! I have been able to buy myself small daily treats to reward myself for not drinking. One of the best treats I gave myself this week is a new perfume which I am calling my "Sober Scent"! Fragrance can be very powerful as it triggers memories and so forth. I'm hoping this new perfume will reinforce my choice to be sober when I get the urge to drink. So far, so good!

Welcome BlondAF! MWO is wonderful. Have you read the book, gotten the supps (especially L-Glutamine it is priceless!) and read up in the tool box? There is alot of great info there. Happy to have you!

Well first day back at work today and it has been a long one :upset::upset::upset: I feel so tired and weary but that's life so I just need to 'suck it up princess'

:waving::waving: to all the new peeps joining us we are jumping our way through January and doing well so far, and the more the merrier.

I'm off for a bath then to bed with a book and ease my weary bones from the trauma of a working day.....

Jennyneric...I have not read the book yet or started the supplements. I do take several supplements daily such as Milk Thistle (to help mend my liver after drinking all these years), fish oil, Vit. D (great for immune system and a mood booster...no wonder they call it the "sunshine vitamin"), a great daily vitamin, Soy Lecithin (also good for the liver), flaxseed oil, probiotics and a hair skin and nails supplement. I want to see how well I can fare the storm before I add anything else to that regimen...lol. I work at a health food store, so I have access to the supplements pretty easily and as a plus, get most of my supplements as free samples I have found that the best way to combat the thought of reaching for a glass of wine is for me is too not ever let myself get too hungry throughout the day. Somehow, when I have an empty stomach, I am more prone to want to drink! Also, I am following a low carb diet, and that is helping with cravings too.

Choice...I think getting the fragrance is a great idea...I do not mind if you copy that approach at all! Maybe us girls can get on the "Sober Scent" band wagon and start a new post on which fragrance we chose and why. I picked up a drugstore find and the name is kind of lame...it's Mariah Carey's "Honey" Lollipop Bling or something. Like I said, the name is hokey but the perfume is wonderful. The bottle is precious with a butterfly on top of the atomizer, so once you get rid of the tacky packaging with airbrushed Mariah Carey sitting in a cross leg postion with all of her "bling" around her, and the cute bottle makes it to your vanity, it's actually very charming. Anyway, when I sprayed the tester, it reminded me of a bright sunny day in paradise, very cheerful and fruity. It's put out by Elizabeth Arden, who's website describes it as: "Honey is an irresistible floral citrus fragrance combined with a touch of Honey and Pineapple, creating a bright and sunny fragrance (low and behold, I was right on the money!) Here's what they say for scent "notes":
Top: Passion Fruit, Pineapple Juice, Lemon Drops
Mid: Amazon Lily, Fresh Ginger, White Freesia
Base: Frosted Musks, Linden Flowers, Honey".

Well, I'm not sure I would have guessed all that but I know that it made me smile and it is my special "Sober Scent" for 2011. It cost me 20 bucks at my local Walgreens, which is the same amount I would have spent for a box of wine at the liquor store, but the perfume will be around a lot longer...lol.:H
