Jumping through January AF. . . .come join in!

    Hi Guys
Choice, i actually had 2 dreams about earthquakes last night, maybe I did feel them, they have had over 4000 aftershocks since September, I wouldnt want to live there.
Rebirth, I recently read a very interesting book about sugar adiction, called "Sweet Poison", its about how our bodies cant process added sugars, especially in the quantities that are in our "fat free" foods.
    it was quite interesting.
Jenny well done hun, it must feel so good.
hope everyone is fighting the good fight

        Good morning January Jumpers!

Jenny, here's my second congratulations on REALLY 30 days! Good job!!!

Earthquakes??? I missed the news last night -- hope no one was affected! I grew up on the West Coast with lots of earthquakes. I don't miss them at all! Now I'm on the East Coast and just deal with Hurricanes! Lol.

Hope you all have a fantastic AF day. I'll be checking back in for Hair/Skin/Cooking/Exercise ... whatever tips come along today.

Oney you are a scream. I am learning so many new irish words from you...product whore...deadly.:H

You cant beat the irish accent. Sounds cliche but do you have a great irish stew recipe? Or Molly?

              Good morning Jumpin' Beans!

Witchy & MyLife, I am glad I'm not the only one who respects Olay...lol. I am in my late 30's and most of the younger people I work with thought I was in my 20's when I first started working there 2 years ago. I always liked when I got "carded" when buying AL...I used to thank the clerk or waitress when doing so...lol. Rebirth, I have heard good things about Perricone products but have not used them yet. Aren't they $$$? I am in the mindset that the fancier, more pricey products don't neccessarily mean that they are better than those that don't have the fancy packaging and brand name. That's why I love Makeupalley, because you can really get honest opinions and I will only buy something if it is rated with at least 4 lipsticks (the rating system on that site). I, too, looked sallow when I drank. Dark circles under my eyes, puffy skin. Yuk, that alone helps me not to drink! Oh, and for spots, I like Burt's Bees Blemish Stick..serious holy grail when I break out at that time of the month due to hormones. It doesn't dry out your skin, you just put it on blemishes and it helps heal them pronto.

Oney-Product Whore, that is a good one! I think I definitely fit into that category. As for toner, I don't use one. I used to but I think it dries out my skin too much. Not sure if they are really effective but if you have one you like, by all means, keep using it! I love the fact that when I go to bed at night, I am sober so I actually "do" a skincare routine. When I was drinking, I was too tired and lazy to actually go through the steps of taking off my makeup and putting on a night cream. And waking up with your makeup on is just plain gross. Now I am into a routine and I really think it is paying off! I forgot to mention that I also put on a Vitamin A serum before the Olay nightcream. I figure a boost in Vitamin A won't hurt. But even with just the night cream, I noticed a big improvement. I will post about the Vitamin A serum if I think it is worth it. It is not an olay product, I got it at Sally's Beauty supply, so it's not a major brand. I am thinking that if us ladies all got together for tea we will really have a fun time talking about girly stuff!

Witchy, I replied to your post on the 7 Day AF cruise (about the book, the Secret). I wanted to thank you for recommending it as I watched the DVD 2x yesterday and it blew me away. I am totally embracing the philosophy, it's worth a shot. I'm dreaming of a house on the beach someday, somewhere where it's warm all year round, and putting my wish into the universe.:h

Whoohooo Jenny on your accomplishment for 30 days! :goodjob:

              Have a lovely day Jumpers!

You know I read the book The Secret years ago -- I should get the DVD and look at that again. I really am a believer in what you put out into the universe is what creates the reality you live in. It just is so easy to let daily life struggles stand in the way of that vision sometimes!

I am in my mid 40's now, so I've really got to get with the program on this moisturizing/daily routine stuff or it's going to be Plastic Surgery Here I Come! (Hopefully NOT)!!

Good morning jumpers! I'm just so happy with the effort everyone is putting into this month!! Truly inspirational :h I'm off to yoga again today and then a cooking class where I'm going to learn how to make tamalies. I'm assuming there is wine included in the cost so tonight I'll have to say I don't drink.. I'm kinda looking forward to saying it.. I'm also looking forward to doing something social as I've been in a wonderful cacoon and need to get out and be around some people. I'm so excited not to drink at this event. These people don't know me and I'm curious to see what the responses will be.

                    Hey jumpers,

Hope you are all well! Just seeing the chat about te moisturisers and had to jump in. I swear by dermalogica! I have been using their products for the past five years and people are always telling me how great my skin looks. It is pricey but last ages and I can confirm the results work. I also get a micradermabrasion facial every six weeks. Prevention is better than a cure...here's hoping anyway!

                      Hey all,
I had to chime in! I swear by Oil Of Olay....I know "cheap" right? IT IS AWESOME! Well I am sober and back! I am staying with all of you this time. A life crisis so to speak "fricked" me up :-( It is so not worth it...

Welcome back Ifull2! Life crises are a frigging bummer aren't they! Evenin to everyone else - great to see so many around!
OK my friend brought me in a sample of the Moroccan oil yesterday and I tried it this morn. - it is absolutely gorgeous - my hair is positively silky - hasn't been like it for so many years, I can't recommend it enough. She gets it in her local hairdressers. She heard about it in Brazil cos apparently they have very brittle hair and she imports it but she says it is prob going to be all over the place soon.
Rebirth, re. Irish stew - my Mums recipe wouldn't be considered truly authentic but it is truly tasty. She used to use mutton which is very hard to get nowadays but lamb pieces will do. Just plonk them in a casserole dish with pearl barley, sliced onions, lamb stock, salt pepper and cover with water, cook for about 2 hours with a lid on,then add whole potatoes and cook for another hour or so, take the lid off for the last half hour - bingo! You can add carrots etc if you want but I don't. Give it a go - my family think it's gourmet cooking and it truly is as simple as that! Oh a bay leaf and thyme are nice if you have them but not essential.
Ok off to get into jammies and put the feet up before bloody men come in, will check in later - I've really tried drinking water today - it is so boring

                            Hi Jumpers

I still don't take my makeup (eyeliner and mascara) off before I go to bed nor do I use a nighttime moisturizer and I am 49. Uggg, I guess I better get at er. I must have good skin genes because I too get compliments, but it is only a matter of time.

When I do take my makeup off before bed, it tends to bother my eyes, they get sore and watery. You would think it would be the other way around. Hmmmm??

So what do you all use to take off your makeup?? I actually use vasiline to take off mine....I know, that is gross right?? I have tried other stuff, but have found my eyelashes actually break with some of them. And I don't have enough as it is , so I always return to the old tried and true.
Day 18 for me and feeling some what, sorta, kind of strong. A challenging few days a head of me.
