Those in Australia and NZ might be interested in the Feb Fast challenge.
You register on the Febfast website, either as an individual or a group. Then you abstain from alcohol for the month of February and get people to sponsor you. The money goes to youth alcohol and drug programmes. But they are also pushing the idea that the people who do the fast from alcohol might like to use it to get a grip on their own drinking habits, and realise how much/often they drink without realising it. If you have a special occasion (ha ha) during the month and want to drink you have to pay $25.
For those with some Af days under their belt this might be an idea to raise money for a good cause while providing a really good reason to keep going AF.
