Marching through March - come on and join us !
Morning Marchers!
Louie congratulations on your 3 weeks AF :goodjob: ! I love the gym and get a natural buzz from it! The weight will fall off you .
Morning anon you are up early too!! Hangover free is the best way to start the weekend!
Firefox how is the new hairdo??
Well it's day 14 for me today! I've been in a pub and drank diet coke and I was given a bottle of wine that I didn't drink so I'm feeling rather pleased with myself. I'm taking the girls swimming today then just chilling and doing some cooking later.
Have a great AF Saturday everyone!

Mornin All! Yep it's great to feel healthy and well - have to say I don't think the gym would do it for me - my few limited attempts I was bored to tears unfortunately - I have a short attention span I think
Lovely morn here in Dublin, plasterer/painter arriving soon tho so all my peace will be GONE. Nice man but he talks and talks and talks - so will up myself shortly and go out shopping. Feck it I deserve it, need new bedlinens and things to replace the damaged stuff.
Ok will check in later

I dont have anyware to go
My Dad is an extreamly emotionally abusive alcoholic, the last few days have been unbearable, I would leave if I could afford to,but at this point i am only working 20 hours a week, not enough to support myself alone. I dont know if I can do this here in this toxoc siutuation, but I have nowere to go. the thing I am holding onto is that once I am debt free, I should hopefuluy be able to make some kind of change (ie move away from my parents) in my life.
its so hard to realise that the person that is not helping is one of your parents,
if I could leave right this minute I would.*Witchy*
Progress, not perfection!!!
A craving wont kill me, but drinking could!!!

Oh poor Witchy - sounds very hard! Is there no way you could bunk in with some friends or something? Or get a second job that would let you get out? It must be so difficult, have you always lived at home or did you move back? I left home at 18 - had 2 brilliant parents, idyllic childhood (can't blame that for my nonsense) but was always aware that I needed to move on. My kids all went too. I was always afraid when I was drinking that one of them would feel the need to write a post like yours. They assure me endlessly that it didn't affect them - in fact the oldest 2 didn't even notice - so I now am confident enough to take their word for it, so when they fled the nest - it was just that! Mind you - youngest seems comfortably ensconced for the long haul!
More seriously Witchy, your sobriety is the most important thing in all this. You can't do anything about your Dad - but you mustn't let your sobriety be compromised by an unhappy house.
Sending you lots of hugs and please come here and unburden to your hearts content. A few times I've been in a really dark place in my head I've found this place amazing and consoling.

:lSo sorry to hear of your situation Witchy. i was in a similar way years ago as my dad was an verbally angey drunk and i had to stay at home for a while as finiancially i couldn't afford my own place. Sadly my dad died in 1986 and it was the booze and ciggies that mainly caused his death. i hope things improve and you can get out on your own. Try to stay strong in the meantime as your doing so well.

Mornin firefox - your hair sounds lovely and your diet sounds .............emm healthy I piled into spring rolls and duck in tamarind sauce with noodles last night - dipped out to the local Thai - just HAD to get away from the plasterer. So gloomy comin home from work yesterday to every window in the house flung open and freezing cold and mucky plaster all over the floors, so pigged out instead. Can still feel it all sittin in my tummy!! Anyway all the exercise I'll get shopping will solve that - yeah right:H
Hope the AA meeting goes well - maybe you could tell us a bit about it? I'm still fascinated but can't see myself going somehow!
