Today is day one.....
Shiner--We are about the same age-- I am 43-- at one point I had about 3 years of daily drinking. My liver tests were never bad except strangely one of my numbers was bad when I went through a period of sporadic drinking--maybe weekends like a "normal" person. I had had drinks on a Sunday and had a test on the Monday-- the doctor told me even a little alcohol can make some folks numbers bad the day after-- he was probably trying to make me feel better but he said-- don't drink for X time and that will tell if it is an issue. And it wasn't after that time passed. All this to say-- not minimizing the serious harm that we can do to ourselves, but the body and especially the liver can heal if you treat it right. I know when I first embarked on getting sober all I could do was worry if I had done my self in and wondered if all the pain of trying to quit was going to be worth it or was I too far gone already? Taking control of things is a great feeling-- it is hard at first but life is SO SO much better without booze. Good luck!

Today is day one.....
Good morning.. I did not get hardly any sleep but am proud of myself.
I know it will take time. As far as my goals... I want to be healthy and I think
for me that means no al... I cant and never do stop with one or two. It is always
until I go to sleep. I am high functioning all day no matter how much I drank the day before.
But I feel sick inside. I am ashamed of how I cant control this. I want to be
free. Both parents were alcoholics and I had a miserable childhood.
Never let the child grow up... I know all this.
Got to go to work.. p.s. I am typing this on my phone. Sorry for typos.
I will check in soon... Shiner
