    May Flowers

    Hiya beautiful flowers,
Witchy, I hope you don't mind me asking but what surgery are you having?
I am ready for this AF month. I know my biggest challenge will be a party I am going to this weekend. Wish me luck. I don't want to ruin my AF streak, and bring back all the other negative repercussions that will come with it. I would skip the party, but I am basically putting it together since it's a work thing. As well, my coworkers know I have not been drinking, so maybe it won't be to hard. I'm rambling! See you all in the A.M. Great job everyone!

      Hi all,
Yesterday (2) was tough for me. I wish this was easier. Though I do feel so much better and accomplish so much more during the day!
Sunshine - that should help that your co-workers know you haven't been drinking...
witchy - "never have that drink again" should do the trick
mimi - I can relate - I read that a second drink slows your metabolism by 75%...a good reason not to drink. I'd love to lose this extra weight!
Hi noodle, scottish lass & jobe. Have a great AF day everyone!

        Hi May Flowers
Sunshine, I am having laproscopic Stomach banding, so I can lose weight, its quite exciting, I guess life really does begin at 40. its quite involved, you have to work with a nutritionist & psychologist as well as having the surgery, but I am looking forward to it.
with your party can you be a designatd driver, thatg way people definately will support you being AF at the party, besides when they ahve had a few drinks eitherit wont matter to them if you are drinking or not, or if they wont shut up about it, just ask them why it matters so much to them if you drink or not??? Good luck hun, I also find if i eat something before I am less likely to drink.
good morning/evening to everyone to come, 4MH, SL, Leaves, Noodle, MyLife, VG, Mario, Mimi, Jobe.
Hope everyonre has a great day, I ahve a job interview this afternoon, so wish me luck!!!
        catch ya later

          Good morning everyone,
Hope you are kicking off your day with a burst of energy. I get mine from the coffee cup.
          Running to work.
Witchy, a family friend had the surgery at 38 and she absolutely loved it. She had it three years and ago and she feels like anew person. Actually we had another family friend do it as well. My family and most friend live in America so it's more common. My cousin had it done to at age 26 and she loves it as well. It is a positive health change and will allow you a more positive active life I hope. Good luck friend! Also good luck with the interview today!:wd::l

Hey everyone, just wanted to check in.
Day 6 for me. Today is a hard day for me. Not because of the alcohol but because of my head. 6 years ago my husband had an affair. So when the intimacy slows way down and I don't feel a connection I get scared. Right now is our busy time at work which all falls on his shoulders (he never complains) pluss all the construction that is going on here at the house, I'm sure he is just too tired at night but it still gives me a stomach ache. I also start feeling like I just can't measure up.

With all this I am glad that I don't have the guilt of drinking. 6 days isn't very many but atleast it's a good start.

This is a downer post, sorry........:upset:

My mood will lift, hopefully soon. I have always been a possitive person but sometimes it's hard...

:thanks: Sunshine, that really helps, I am really interested in the nutrition side of it I have been researching lately how evil sugar is , & I am going to try to go as sugar free as possible after as well. Also one of the things I am looking forward to, coming home tired at the end of the day cause I have been out & done heaps of active stuff, my goal is to join a ballroom dancing or ice skating club at the end of this year so that is somethiing to look forward to, thanks for the best wishes for the interview, I will let you all know how it goes.
Mimi - wow that must be hard to deal with, but I can only imagine tht you would be so paranoid if you were still dealing with being hungover as well, with all the extra AL induced anxiety,it sounds like you guys are really busy, but maybe you could try having a date night at home with your hubby, break out some candles, music (no TV) good food, make out on the couch like teenagers.connect on an emotional level - I hope you feel better soon :l
right I am off to have some breakfast
I will check in with you crazy kids later
              stay strong

Hello May flowers! My birthday is in May, too so it's always a good month! Although as the years go by I probably should re-think that!

Anyway, it will be great to be AF on my birthday this year. All you May flowers sound GREAT! Its wonderful to hear from you all. Mimi, maybe just focus on you for awhile and don't worry about your husbands behavior. (I know, easier said than done!) But seriously, we can't do anything about other peoples decisions, we can only work on our own happiness. You're taking a great step here!!!

Have a fantastic night all. :l

                      HEllo Everyone,

Hello Wanderbird and welcome. We love company!
Mylife, Is your birthday this week? I hope you have a lovely day.
Witchy, :goodjob: That is so wonderful.
Mimi, glad you're hanging around with us. I've been listening to country music, and that seems to help my mood when there is a lack of intimacy happening with my husband. Alsoo working out i always a plus.
4my, way to stay on the wagon!

Off to play soccer. I am So tired. Tried some gaba calm for the first time today. I really enjoyed it. If you feel anxious/anxiety this may be good to look into. See you all later!:nutso:

Hello Everyone , Day Three, 2 nights AF. I managed a social function last night without drinking. My real victory was not drinking at all so I could get out the door! First time I have been out in the evening for so many years I can't remember. It was a good experience, but my social skills have plummeted. Pathetic though it is I was like a kid in wonderland at all the pretty lights in the small town I went to. And I saw the stars for the first time in...ages, so beautiful
Doing OK, I have a painter here for the next few days, so wont be online so much. I am so grateful to have found this site
