Congrats everyone on all the AF days so far this month, even if they are not all AF!
Just had a girls night out dinner and the movies. No AL though. I think before I never noticed that others don't drink very much when out sometimes. I think I was always concerned about what I was going to drink though. Heading into Saturday early am. Heading to bed because I have to work tomorrow, and then have a PJ party to attend.
Mimi, yes, even just long walks tend to help my mood. Anything active helps my mood. Exercise is good.
Witchy, that is good news about the job.
To all my lovely May Bouquet, hope your dreams are sweet and your morning amazing. See you all when I wake!

Hi Flowers ? welcome to all the new starters. I joined the April group late ? but the idea of a monthly challenged helped me to stay AF 22 out of the 30 days ? I had a couple of slips ups, but had so much support form a great group.
Today is day 6 ? yahoo ? tough week., been so busy with work and school functions ? coming to end of school year this month and they are ramping up big time. All I can think of is a nice glass of wine after girls go to bed to help unwind ? and it would be fabulous if I could mange A glass of wine ? but I have learnt that once the bottle is open, I have to finish it and sometimes open the next one ? so trying hard to be strong. The weather has been warm too ? 90 degrees on Wed, and that also seems to be a trigger ? well, there are lots of triggers!! Trying to look at all the good triggers ? like how I feel this morning, the 13 lbs I have lost, the money I am saving, the sense of purpose??.
Hope all are entering Friday (another trigger ) with a good feeling in their hearts about getting thru the weekend (mother?s day here in the US)
Be well, be safe, be happy ? and be AF!!

Day 4 AF and feeling good. I'm astounded at how much better I feel and look. I *really* wanted a wine around 4.30 yesterday, but had an OJ and early dinner instead - so I managed it.
Hope everyone continues to do well.

              Hello May Flowers!

Glad to hear how well you are all doing! It's lovely to check in here and get such great support. I'm hoping for a AF May to add to my AF April. Let's do this together!

Hope everyone has a fantastic AF weekend. I'm headed to my in-laws for Mothers Day and I don't think they have internet, so I'll be back in the dark ages for a weekend.

Mimi, dont stress, i dont know how many day 1's i had. Whats important is that you dont quit. Be kind to youself & try to identify why?
                    You will get there!

                      Hello Flowers.

Mimi, I posted to you on Newbies nest -- hang in there. If this were easy no one would have an alcohol problem! Just try to get yourself to Day 10 and it seems to get easier from there.

Have a great AF day all.

                          Thanks for all the encouragement,

I do need to identify triggers so I don't keep falline into the same old patterns.

I feel great today and very possitive. I have decided to hire a trainer and really focus on healthly lifestyle changes.

I will keep you updated on my progress.

Just checking in after the weekend, I've been in a what I call blue mood the last couple of days. Spent today drinking my own version of Cape Cooler I swap the vodka for Grenadine drink it out of berry filled champagne glass.., sheer bliss

Anyway I'm glad to say another AF day and my mind seems to still be at peace with accepting the fact that I can't ever drink again.

Hope everyone is having/ had a good day

                                May Flowers

Quickly breezing in to say hello to the May flowers.

Witchy, congratulations on the new job and the surgery. This could really be the start of a new life for you. The antabuse and the fact that drinking is not OK after surgery should be a real help to keep you on track.

I've had an AF May apart from Friday when my team wanted to open a bottle of wine given to us at Christmas by a client. As there are only 3 of us, and they won't open it without me, I felt like a kill joy if I refused and I knew it would sit in the cupboard until I agreed. It was only one glass and it was fine, but next time I think I'll agree to stay for a drink, and then whip out my cranberry juice and see what happens. One occasional drink is probably not harmful, but it's the relaxing of the rules that can send the whole thing pear-shaped so I need to watch it.
